Keep your eyes pealed folks, have a new thread coming up soon on the Ae71. Just purchased a bigport 4age 16v, will have some internal work done and running a microtech computer system, will be a beast ;) Also picked up something special the other day for 400 bucks with a heap of spares, a 1977 LT 2000 Celica liftback or a Celica Mustang if you prefer that.

Hey guys Just had the best weekend at East Coast Custom Crawl which is a big cruise for bikes minitrucks and customs. Started off at the DEC where everyone met up and got in there groups. Was supposed to be leaving by 10 but ended up leaving after 11 because the :fuzz: popo wanted to check ever licence and do breath tests and they also even decided to do drug checks :wasted: with dogs which was so annoying, everyone just wanted to get going  Once we where going we cruised up to buckland and pulled over so everyone could re group then off we set again for Orford to meet again then up to Tribunna football oval where thay had the show and shine, miss east coast comp, stuff to eat and a band playing. Ended up coming away with another two trophys in the show and shine to my supprise which i was so stoked about :D best pre 1990 and judges pick After that everyone went down to the pub for a meal then me an my mate went back to Orford for the night where we booked a room to have a few bevey's Over all was a sick weekend away cruising with the mates, only shit thing was the weather, rained and blew its guts out at the show but ah well s*#t happend ay  Heres a few happy snaps.

So havent done an update in a while so i thought i might fill you guys in. Recently my mate got me free tickets to the V8 supercars at Symmons Plains Raceway because his dad is one of the track officials that fixes up the tyre bundles an armco. So we decided to take the Rolla up for a cruise for the weekend. So after work on the Friday night we hit the road to Perth where we stayed with my mates family friends. Arrived there at about 9 and you should have seen the front of the poor Rolla, couldnt see it for bugs :laff: so i had to get to work washing it all off in the dark before they all dried and i couldnt get them off. The next morning we woke up and decided to go in my mates dads car to the track so i didnt have to park it in with all the other cars and get my doors destroyed and get it covered in dirt. When we got in there i noticed that they had a Shannons show and shine with about 70-80 cars in the middle of the track with the big Shannons transporter. The cars also got to go out on the track 3 times during the day for parade laps before the v8 supercars came on for 3 laps each time wich was pretty cool. Then i realised i had the Rolla up there :P so i went and had a talk to the Shannons bloke about trying to get the car in the show the next day. He said it was a thing you had to enter online about a month ago but you can go talk to the other bloke that runs it if you like, so i did and he said yeah no problems as long as your here between 7 and 7 30 and its free to enter. So we rocked up the next day and they checked me off the list for the show and put a sticker on my car, gave us free tickets (again) and into the middle of the track we went. Then came time to do the parade laps which was mad fun, got to go out on the track 3 times for 3 laps each, got to give it abit here and there and show it off to the huge crowed and the chicks loved it :laff: Then to my supprise towards the middle of the day they pronounced there would be a trophy presentation for the Shannons show and shine at 1 20, so we headed over to where the cars where to hear the results. They said we have gone around every car and picked the best 5 in the show and each winner gets a trophy and a hat, and what do you know he says "This guy was a late entry, he came and saw me yesterday and wanted to put it in the show and its for his verry tidy little ke70 Corolla" :o Was blown away haha, come up to watch the v8's for the weekend, had no idea there was any shows on at all and came away with a trophy and getting to do laps of the track......and a hot lap at the end when we where leaving :P was the sickest weekend. Have another cruise coming up next weekend called East Coast Custom Crawl which is for heaps of cars, they cruise to a location and have a show with bands and all sorts. Also have 40 trophy catogories so ill see if i can make it 4 in a row for the big Rolla :D Also the new Ae is coming along nicely, most of the panels have been repaired and i just recently brought the two brand new flat front guards from Australia for the flat front conversion.

If found a rattle gun was the easiest with a short extention bar, took the best part of a minute. As for the dash ive had mine in and out in both my sevs about 1000 times haha. Do you just want to get the dash pad off?? if so you need to remove the plastic shroud with the vents in it that goes around the spedo cluster and radio by removing the screws from the bottom of the pannel and underneath the top of the dash. You will need to take the knobs off the radio to, they just pull off then undo the two nuts and washers from under the knobs. Also there should be some screws under the front of the dash when you open the glove box up and 2 in either side when you open the doors up. Once you get all the screws out and remove the plastic shroud there should be 2 nuts right up the front underneath the dash directly in front of the steering wheel and 2 underneath the glove box which you might need to remove to get at from memory, which is just a matter of more screws. Then it should just pull straight out but pull the dash towards yourself rather than straight up as it has two clips at the back of it that it slides into. Might be a tad hard to understand but i hope that helps just unscrew all the screws you can see if that doesnt help and see what happens :laff: Cheers Matt

Pictures of how the new Rolla sits now after a a few days work, stripped the interior ready for cleaning, took the front end apart and gave it all a katcher clean and removed all the pinstripes and rubbers strips.

I agree with will pretty much, it all comes down to cost for me, this is only going to be a daily at the moment and I'm trying to save as many dollars as i can to finish the purple one and save for a new motor. I reckon they will be all good anyways as I'm not going to be kaining the f*#ck out of the car and pushing it to the absolute limits everywhere i go as i want to keep my licence :laff: and in the end its only a 1.6, whats the worst that can happen on the road. If one cracks or something ill just try different wheels. I mean yeah if you where a full on professional race car driver and was racing it all the time then yeah you might consider putting stronger wheels on it but for something thats going to be a run about car that might see the track 2 or 3 times a year i reckon they should be fine. Cheers for that man :y: na the only rust in it was under the boot seal on the corners and a tiny little bit in the back guard, was pretty good as it was garaged for most of its life

Exactly what i reckon. Thats what i want to do, start saving for a 4age. For only 750 bucks off Ebay for a full set you can't go wrong
