  1. Thanks man, appreciate it. Hes already sercombe to the fact that it will be better than his haha nah, he will never give in. Yeah i do like the 4AGE's and they look alot cleaner and fit in nicely, plus i can get on for cheap so thats what it will be getting  But for the hell of it ile show you what the old mans come up like, hopefuly mine will come up as good
  2. No probs, let us know how it turns out
  3. Didnt think it looked all that hard :) Thanks Reed  , was'nt to sure about the purple but I'm busting out to see it go on the body
  4. Thanks man, well it doesnt look that hard to do if you have the right tools but i wouldnt like to try it. The panel beater who did mine made it look easy, he only took about 2 hours to do all 4 guards. The rear ones you can't realy do much to because they are double panneled unless you cut a bit of the inner guard out, tap it to the shape you want then and reweld another bit back into it wich would take for ever, so i just got him to tap the square edge out, get rid of the line and put a nice curve on them instead of coming streight out. He tapped the back ones out to the same shape as the front ones but smaller because if you have a look the rear flair is smaller than the front ones to start with, but still looks sweet. The main thing is that you find someone who realy knows what they are doing with them other wise it could turn to shit real quick.
  5. Cheers buddy
  6. Dads mate who is a panel beater come around this weekend to flair the guards. All that has been done was the lip was folded up under the guard the the square edge has been folded out with the original guard shape and curved/shaped. They have now got a nice bubble on them  the bits that have been welded in are where it was a bit shallow, so he filled it in with oxey welding and then ground around them ready for boging. engine bay is now also all sanded and ready for a coat of primer.
  7. Went and got my paint mixed up the other day to the colour i wanted (matched off a model car ha) ready to lay it on the door jams and inside the doors before it goes into the oven for the paint on the body. To acheive a nice finish i made my mates shed into a makeshift oven, giving it a good sweep out then spraying water all over the floor to stop the dust from rising and got the wood heater cranking to get it pretty hot to bake the paint on. the result was perfect
  8. Thanks man, yeah leaving them on for the moment, putting a 4-age in it after a while so ile do all that sort of stuff then.
  9. Cheers buddy :y:
  10. Just put a few more touches on the 4k that i rebuilt. Everything has been cleaned up inside and out, its had new rings, seals, bearings, timing kit, gaskets, oil filter, spark plugs and welsh plugs. As for cleaning it up and painting it, i got a small wire brush on a drill and went around and got any surface rust and corosion marks off the block, masked it up and hit it with a coat of gloss black VHT high heat engine enamel. The water pump, pulleys, sump and things like that where wire brushed to get any difficult marks off but other than that i used a bit of petrol and this high quality engine degreaser (that stings like a bitch if you get it on your hands) to clean them up, then wacked some primer on them, rubbed them with fine sand paper and sprayed them with that VHT paint and it came out awesome. All the bolts and bits and peices where soaked and cleaned in that kick ass degreaser to get them all nice and shiny again. The timing chain cover i painted with some alluminium paint and the rest of the alluminium stuff was cleaned and wire brushed lightly like the head and distributor but i polished the rocker cover with metal polish and a rag whitch took for ever :bash: but came out sweet :y:
  11. Some of the body work done, all doors rubbed and primed and door frames ready for primer
  12. Cheers man :y:
  13. Actually it was pretty dirty, ecpacialy the interior. it had been sitting in a yard for a few years. i just spent hours and hours with a scrubbing brush and paint and i come up like this, i couildnt beleive it, the seats where like black with stains all over them and now there like new. Ile put some before and after photos of the interior up later on. Yeah i found him by chance on the web when i was looking for quad lights, he lives in the philippines and he had these reconditioned corolla parts, and some where new. the quadlights are used JDM parts that goes trough a refurb to restore it to its original state and the bumpers and indicators are OEM Toyota parts made in Japan.
  14. Some more parts
  15. some of the body work been done by dad and i and some of the parts i have spent ages on cleaning and painting :P
  16. Cheers buddy, appreciate it, i couldnt agree more. i love every little thing as clean and as good as i can get and if its not good when ive done something i go back and do it again. it drives me crazy sometimes but in the end all the hard work of doing this realy pays off. I'm a perfectionest to detail and this car will be done properly you can count on that, right down to the last bolt because I'm planing to showing it a few times
  17. Interior has come up so well after scrubing and katcher cleaning for what felt like a life time. Most of the plastics where pretty dirty and had a fair bit of grime on them so i got to work and scrubbed the plastics with degreaser and then armoralled them and they come up like new. The seats i gave a good hard scrub with detergant and then katcher cleaned them to get the stains out and wow :D
