Just found some pics that Mum took on her camera when Dad and i just got it back from the paint shop and unloaded it into its new home. Our neighbour suggested it would be easier to hook the trailer up to his TRD Hilux and just back it up the driveway instead of towing it up because our driveway is quiet steep as you can see. Turned out it was a good idea, backed it up there with no problems. Good old Toyotas you see :laff:

Got stuck into it again today and progressed a fair bit. Cleaned up and painted a few more bits and peices and ended up getting most of the engine bay back together and looking shmicko before the day was out :D

Dad and i finished off fabricating the brackets for the front bar the other day and put it on for a test fit, so the rusted bolts will not be staying on there haha. Very happy with the fit :) I also finished off fitting the door rubbers, moldings and some of the plastic interior. Gave it all a quick tidy up and vacuume out today also before the underlay and carpet goes back in :y: And don't worry he has got his eyes closed :laff:

Time for paint :D So today was the big day for the paint. 5 o clock start for dad and i this morning as you can emagine i was so exited, drove over to the car, hooked the trailer up and pushed the car on in the dark in freezing weather. Felt like my fingers where going to drop off :D . Then we jumpped back in the car to take it to the bodyworks only to realise the battery was flat because we left the lights on in the car to see what we where doing :bash: but just a minor set back, got it charged up and off we went. Got to the body works and we off loaded it and pushed it into the oven. I then decided to drop the front end out of it and sit the front on jack stands because i spent so much time on cleaning and painting it and didnt want to get any over spray blowing over it. So after that we masked it all up, then prep soled it and let Jeoff do what he does best, paint :) The end result was amazing, all the hours and the effort that was poored into the body was so woth it, couldnt have been happier with how streight the body came out concidering the was not one panel with out a dent in it that we had to repair :D Couldnt that Dad enough for it all. Jeoff ended up putting on three thick coats on it so the detailer has something to play with when he cuts and buffs it up. So after that we un masked it, put the front end back in, packed up and then sat around and had a good perve on it :laff: Got it back home at about 5 and put it in the shed where it will live for about a month, Dad was not happy about having to put his Commodore out of the shed :laff:. I'm that wrapped with it i think ile have it back together tonight haha For now it will be left for the paint to flatten off and to dry properly before the detailer comes to cut it up after a while, so i think i will start putting some of the interior back in and leaving everything else until the detailers done then give it a good wash off and start putting it back together because it gets quiet messy. In the end was a very long day but so worth it, big thanks to dad for spending so much time and effort on the body work. Jeoff for spending all day painting it and doing a spot on job, and Wells Bodyworks for the oven :y:

Ok so my car is just about ready for the spray booth but i have been told by the dent man that he wouldnt be able to get it streight enough and its beyond repair. So I'm am now in need of a nice streight bonnet badly. Could anyone tell me if they make after market bonnets for a 83 ke70 flat front tand where to get them, or if you have one or know anyone who has one that whants to sell one that would be great. Cheers

Decided to attack some more parts the other day and cleaned up my dirty carby and manifold. To clean the carby i washed it in the degreaser in the wash bay and then used a bit of carby cleaner in a can and gave it a good scrub to get any greasy bits off that i had missed. With the manifold i cleaned it in the wash bay with the degreaser then lightly wire brushed it to get any marks off and to give it a bit of shine. Then i bolted her on to have a look ha :D
