  1. If you have arc force adjustment it may help you too with the thinner walled stuff
  2. Mate, I would really recommend getting it tig'd up even if i costs you a little bit the result will be far nicer, and welding stainless with a tig is you can get ahold of one isn't that hard it seems to pool alot smoother and is generally nicer to weld than mild steel. Most may probably disagree with me but I would go to the trouble of purging the tube while welding it too, helps with penetration and makes the inside look alot smoother, My 2c anyway
  3. Really starting to come along mate, but please tell me that you are going to be changing the Silicone intake so something a little less....flexible, but its looking good
  4. Thats how I did it with my old GT4 dropped the car right down onto the x-member unbolted the x memebr with the motor and box still attached to it, jacked it up as high as possible and towed it out with our other car, although still makes it difficult to move anywhere else but atleast its out of the car. Car is looking good mate good to see its all stripped and some of the panels getting ready for some paint.
  5. Hi all, I'm Sam Currently living in the North of New Zealand's West Island but originally I'm from New Plymouth. Hunting for a KE70 to pull to bits and breathe some new life into at the moment, but I'm a Fly In-Fly Out worker so time is a touch limited at the moment. Daily Drive is an '05 BA 'Coon XR6T Pics soon if anyone actually wants to see them
  6. Hey Guys, Member Name - 20vT Area - Brighton, Brisbane Daily Drive - 2005 BA MKII Falcoon XR6T Hey guys, I'm Sam new here, been into Toyotas for a while and figured its about time I got myself into a KEXX so will be on the llokout for one in a month or two, in the mean time just here to read up on some of the great projects you guys are building. Thanks
  7. A mate towed my old st185 about 30kms with his KE70 its struggled up a couple of the hills but I'm pretty sure a tiny would be a hell of alot less than that. I think it will tow it fine its just a matter of the legality of it all
  8. The new hiluxs run a 1KD or 2KDFTV engine, both of which are common rail diesels and believe they also have variable geometry turbochargers on them. 1KZ engine were from the earlier model Hilux which were the older type Electronic distributor pump type diesels, they are still a good strong motor, I once heard of them being call the 2jz of the diesel world lol
  9. Your general theory is right, the lower the compression the more boost you can run. but the lower the compression ratio the more low end torque you sacrifice it will also effect how quickly your turbo will spool as well. With higher compression and less boost you will get less lag and higher low end torque so really it depends what you looking for in term of power and how that power is delivered
  10. Go EFI tuned for E85 which should allow for up to 2 more points of static compression.
  11. I doubt it would, I'm pretty sure its from somewhere in Europe. Seen the same thing in NZ except on a far filthier level...KE70 Wagon with 2 6 cylinder Valiant motors in it, one driving each rear wheel, although that was a dedicated skid car
  12. I think its the third one I will dig them out tomrrow and find out for sure
  13. Even if it is only a 5 speed it shouldnt be too had to make 5 speed M - W series bellhousing a W5X box. I say go for it, they look nice would make a great cruiser
