So just clarifying, that my K70 with a 4 speed box can have 5 gears if I find me a K50 box and bolt it straight in? If so, cool bananas and Baked Beans

Aight sounds good. Trying to enroll in a night course for tafe and possibly splurge on a welder for personal use soonish, so I was just trying to clarify for my personal applications ;)

On this subject of welders, what would you guys suggest for me replacing the rusted sections in my new Ksev wagon? I'm getting the impression from the thread that TIG welders would be the way to go. I'm not heaps fussed with how neat the job is, just don't wanna see rust outside my car, and have the ability to fix my exhaust leaks without having to take it down to Nigel all the time :(

I'm keen for it. I can sit down and figure out some routes, Just wondering where people mainly live and actually WANT to go drive. For me, I'd rather steer clear of city roads and head into the hills. Anyone without heaps of power would prefer corners anyways (or maybe thats just me :P ) Even if there's only 3 or 4 of us, its still more fun than finding some LanEvo fag boosting up Gorge Rd and blowing you off because he felt the need >.> PM me with your ideas or comment on here again, I'll keep an eye on this over the next few days, as I get my license back in 1.5 weeks and hopefully a KSev wagon by Wednesday :P ~Chris~

Thanks for all the hints fellas, I'll be taking some photos of the car soon and posting up the results.

Are you saying that the box can be removed without removing the whole engine? Do you have any hard info about the code for the box? Just coz I havent heard of a C52 box before :S

I know its heaps late, but the little tube on the tappet cover is just a breather line back to the induction system yeah? Not sure why that being blocked would affect your idle, and I'm fairly sure while changing oil I've left the cap off after putting fresh oil in and it's run... Not nicely, but it ran and sprayed oil up the underside of my bonnet. I would sya your engine has a lot of oil leaking issues, and shit build up from the years or lack of maintenance. So many people just assume that the engines won't die regardless, and then wonder why the RAA has to get called out to them when their dizzy shits its striker plate through the side of the housing >.> Like mine did :P

Just wondering if anyone else on here has remover the engine and box from an AE82 and if there were any specific issues that a Gregory's/Service Manual doesn't cover? And also if the gearbox is a C or T50 in the Twin Cam badged models? The box is coming out due to the synchromesh for 1st to 2nd is rooted by previous owners and I want it replaced before I get my license back in a few weeks. Will hopefully have her cleaned up and maybe get a thread going somewhere for an actually Rolla on this forum :P Cheers guys Chris

Nah its got discs all round, and theyre in good nick as well. I've done my dash with skids for now. Back to the lil hatch that plugs away everyday to work and back :)

What's a twinky? Thanks for the suggestions, Ill remember to write all that down next time I go round for a looksy. It's getting the gearbox refreshed before I take the car and has been a garage project for the last 2 years or so by my uncle and a friend of his. Body wise and interior wise, I think it's fairly top notch. I will take photos next time I'm around there. Thnaks again fellas

Hey guys, I'm finally jumping over to the Rolla side of the car enthusiast fence... FINALLY!!! :) I'm am due to purchase a Red 1986 AE82 Twin Cam Hatch, 4A-GE equipped and just about overrated, with only the engine bay needed a bit of a freshen up. I was wondering if there are any common problems, or things I should be wary of for that model that I can fix before June 30 and I'm back on the road? Cheers guys.

Ewww, Long Beaches smell gross. I can't remember the ones that I liked the smell of (I don't and have never smoked) but one of the supervisors used to always light up on site, and I'd wanna follow him round the site for a bit :P Weirdo. I have udon noodles and some mushroom sauce I made yesterday.

Maybe try the RollaClub Rides (Toyota) section :) Unless you want some help finding info or something? Nice as Corolla bud, looks tough as :) More photos of under the bonnet, and wheel fitment :)

Either way, play with it too much, and it'll cost you for years to come ;)

Photo's? I'm fairly sure I know what you're on about, just want to double check ;)

Or if you want to, I recall seeing that code down at SuperCheap Auto when I was looking for Charade plugs. BCPR6ES should be in a Sprints/Supercheap or your local auto retailer. Might pay to ring first if you can be bothered :laff:

Tough looking front grille, and lucky you on the cheap pick up price. Stuff what the others say, get lower :P Start fires with scraping

If it gets up to 5K then starts to sputter and such, the previous boys are correct in assuming its ignition, and most likely your coilpacks, or plugs, or some shitty broken leads or something. Start with the plugs and check the gap, to .7 like recommended before, then maybe invest in some new leads if the current ones look faulty, then worry about your coils if it comes too that. Good thign about going this way is you know your plugs and leads aren't at fault, and it stops shops charging you for wasted labour you put in yourself. Dunno where you live, but if a proper tune isn't on the cards, maybe even just a service from people who you know have worked on an RB25 Neo before. Might be an issue he's worked on before and could fix it same day or quicker than you think. Or do it the Rolla way, and give it a crack yourself ;)

I know, but get the loan, then if it serious and shouldnt have been looked at, a law suit can follow for malpractice and and some reimbursement :) I also understand if you don't have the time nor want to worry about such things, just a suggestion. WGMG: Female Minds
