well i have started to gather some shit for the car, so this weekend i will be pulling the motor and box out, i will be purchasing the ae71 crossmember and gearbox and a few other goodies of des this saturday and i will pick up my new rear springs and on friday which are falcon ssl's . i still need to sort out my front suspension as all the good brands have discontinued the line of ke70 parts so i am limited to kyb or munroe. kyb is good but not what i was looking for:( and the 86 coil overs are a f@$kin rip off so i am thinking s13 lower control arms brakes and coilovers bolted onto the ae crossmember but if anyone has some ides throw em out on the table please i will put pics up as it happens cheers jp

f@$k yeah so i take it brendon (MSR) customs is doing it? there is a guy there ken who is a corolla nut apparently pretty sure he has a ke10 with 5k, maybe he will have some parts for you maybe even a 5k

yeah i have been stopped by the local rozza's and they told me to keep it off the road and foot paths and it can only be ridden in unbuilt up areas with no street lights or road markings

Hey all well after being a member of this site for a number of years (4 i think) I have now come across another corolla KE70 to be exact. the deal was one of my brothers bought it to rally cross but decided it was to good to bash around a paddock so i bought it for $400. It is currently bog stock with a little over 200 000k (i think) and running the 4K and 5 speed With a overrated interior only 1 crack in the dash and needs new back seat and a good vacuum and detail. The body needs minor attention after the previos owners before myself and my brother tried to fix rust by cutting it out and filling with newspaper, cardboard and bog :) otherwise the body is straight and only one minor ding. The motor and box will be up for sale next weekend as the car will be copping a 20v. So the plan is to strip the original running gear, Upgrade to a AE71 crossmember, 86 front coil overs, xt130 lower control arms, some slotted front rotors and good pads, 4AGE 20V, jdm T50, just lock the standard diff with some weld :) , and some nice wheels either meshies or superlights. any way the 20v will be running some form of aftermarket ecu (razorback? maybe a mate has one in his 20v 70 and it is pretty good) and a custom exhuast. any how enough of my crapping on here are some pictures and comments and feedback welcome as with and idea's or parts u have that may help me with my build cheers JP. ;) :blinks:

depends how the car leaves the line man, if ur accelerating like a stabbed rat to 1000ft then you get off it ur mph is goin to drop alot quicker then your et because u made all the time up in the first 1000ft, works the otherway 2 if you leave the line and the car carries on like a raped cat or wheelspins its way to 330ft then u get her going and accelerate hard and fast ur et is gonna be high but ur mph will be way higher then the average mph for the et u have run. i have seen top doorslammers run 8.0 at 220mph but have also seen them run 6.50 at only 180mph it all happens in the first half of the race track man

welll personally i think it's not worth the ef manual but its justin's choice not mine hehehe it will come good once he starts making some money, it did do a tuff skid in that video though. don't think i ever seen the falcon do a skid that good.

autometer old school look is good but personally i would spend a little more coin and get a decent set of old school smiths gauges

Gav, I have knocked up a few little different combo's for u gav that we will speak about on the weekend. They range from turbo 3k to 5k with a sc12 through to a suzuki G13B from a swift. As for the diff i would still recomend we change it to ke70 or depending what motor u decide to run i can shorten a hilux diff for you as the are already leaf sprung so no changing shit like with the 70 diff it will just be a case of moving mounts. I do believe the ke20 diff will last u all of about 15minutes The suspension i belive should go to ke70/ae71 with the hope of being able to run a coilover from a 86 to give the car a better handling and ajustable ride, with the rear being a set of reset leafs which tim at city suspension should be able to help us with. A set of good sway bars will steady any body roll the car will have and perhaps a strut brace in the front. For the brakes i would go with disc's all round perhaps a aftermarket set of slotted ke70 rotors on the front and just whatever we can fit on the back according to what diff is used and some high quality pads. Panel and paint is all going to be your choice, as looks are in the eye of the beholder. The interior i believe should stay as standard as possible maybe with a aftermarket steering wheel and a cd player fitted nicely to the dash or hidden in the glove box. This is what i can offer at the moment gav but we will go into more depth on sunday :( :ninja: :)
