Another update... 2 in one day! I just picked up my new rear lights for the Rolla (thanks gze82!), they look sweet as but the photos don't do them justice! Heres the before and after... Before: After: Just cleanes the rolla's rear up nicely! Another update (although a fair bit delayed) is my new front bar... again off gze82s rolla (thanks mate). Makes it look like a nice car again! Now all I have to do is get my 16's painted and put them back on, then I will be REALLY happy with the car again!

Thats most likely my problem too... just had a good look at my exhaust manifold and it has a big crack in the number 4 runner... the popping has gottn worse after my engine swap, probably because the crack has opened up a bit more. Time for some extractors me thinks...

hahaha, sussed out! The short answer to the problem is that I'm a dick... and didnt recheck all the bolts on the engine. Yes, it was coming from the exhaust cam above number one... because the bloody timing gear had worked its way loose!!! As mrmoparman said I'm bloody lucky it didnt fall off, my 4age is now an interferance engine after the swap so if the cam gear had come off it would have made a right mess. Lesson to be learnt... double check everything! And when it still makes stupid noises check it all again! Now its time to go Commodore hunting! hehe...

Haha, drive it like you stole.... ahh, rented it! I would prefer to take my car, make a road trip out of it, but we will have to see what everyone thinks and go from there. Looking forwards to the update Teddy.

Would be a pain in the ass to trim! The dash would be a nightmare to cover but it could be done, even the door trims would be a bitch. Still, it would look better if you could afford it, just don't ask me to do the work! lol! We do need some sports trucks to open up the market... this would give Holden and Ford a good run for their money!

I like the idea but I think the cops would be onto us! We could hire a mini bus and take that up, its cheaper but would loose the rolla run atmosphere!

Thats some good info Mikey, I recon some all red rear light would look sweet as! For the indicators you could use green globes behind the red like some of the ricers have to. I have seen these and they give a nice amber colour like there supposed to.

Off the road again! Hrmmm, my car god has struck me... he must have been busy with stu before! The engine has devoloped a rather intersting top end noise... so until its sorted its living in the garage! The problem there is its my daily driver! Ahh well. The good news is that in the time its was running it was great, I didnt even give it a great stretch... well, nothing over 6000rpm anyway, but when shifting hard into 3rd at the rpm it chirps the tyres! So appart from the setback I'm pretty happy. Hopefully it will be up and running again sometime soon so I can have some fun. Jarrad

Yeah, the fear of the redneck brigade has been brought up a few times in Teddys main thread but he seems to have it under control. Stu, I love your Signature! Its a great combatant to the "only milk and juice come in 2 litres" sticker that you see on v8's all over the place. Might have to get one like yours made up!

Just remember we all have to be sensible! (yes, I'm pushing the responsible part... but hell yeah I'm up for a skid!). The twinky might not make it now... took it for another drive after an oil change and it sounds like a tractor. Somethings not right in the exhaust bank above number one to the point I have decided not to drive it til its fixed! Anyway, I will have a look at some places/times etc for the BBQ. All sugestions welcome!

Good to hear the problem wasnt too big Webbers, I might pull mine off and give it a clean out just for good measure! My twinky is running pretty sweet, but it seems to have some bad lifter noise or the like. Hopefully it will be sorted (and not for too much dosh) before the GOR cruise... just a word of warning for you... it chirps 3rd! Anyway, Trev, thanks for the info on the coolent. According to whereis.com.au it will take 8 hours and 24mins, 772.05kms. would make a nice trip! It could be done in one day no probs, I do a 7 hour trip to Mildura no worries and thats on my own so if we have say 2 per car it would be sweet.

Wow! Bloody nice work on the doors etc. I can appreciate how much work goes into getting all of those contours smooth before painting!

PLUS it looks stock as bar a bit or red paint! I checked with an engineer and I don't need an engineers cert for this where as a 20vlave setup I do... It all comes down to how much cash I had to play with.

Thanks all... Um, my car god has been forgiving lately... I did the whole swap in a weekend basically! Remember, its only been running since last night so anything could happen yet! The 20valve head and tbs arent on because I can't afford to do the complete swap and I wanted more low down grunt compared to a 20valve. Later on I will change the cams and have more fun but for now its all apples. This swap is quite cheap if done properly as you use all of your existing efi setup... until you start asking for more more more power! lol! For now though its all good!
