2nd Annual Rollaclub Great Ocean Rd Cruise
TheNOBBLER replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in VIC / Melbourne
The trip will have a few Vic meet points... SOuth Aus meet points are a little out of my reach! Will have to get someone onto that! Also... have to recruit some more SA guys and gals to come! We will have our first meet point the same as last year. This will be at the Mobile/Macas INBOUND on the Western Ring Rd. This gave us a chance to eat some cardboard and have a fuel up before we make our way to the coast. Last year we made the trip to Queenscliff for the second meet point but this really took up alot of time for us all... I have had a quick chat to the peninsula pussies (hehe) and had the idea of having a second meet point in Torquay (hopefully someone remembers that conversation!). This will make is easy for the few from Bacchus Marsh (I will be at all of the meet points from the ring rd) and will be an easy reach for our Ballarat contingent. Would assume it would be the same for Muller from bendigo... If I can get hold of him! The trip will then get moving along to apollo bay for a decent break? Or maybe Lorn? I have to work out the distances between stops before we comit to anything. One main stop will most likely be in Warnambool, its about 3/4 of the way over to Portland and is a pretty decent place for a stop! Remember, all of this is up for discussion... I need input from everyone to get this going in the right direction. Another thing is the 12 big things in the water somewhere along the way... pretty sure there before Portland? Would be a great stop too... Ok... I ned to go to bed now... sleep can be a good thing! Colin, you will be missed! But you had better not be missed by everyone at your place, you would be shot! Will catch you oneday! JP. -

getting there! more consumables would be a good idea... and getting them to SA before the run would be good too! The list will get bigger and smaller at the same time.. invites have been opened to the TCCAV as well as the Jap auto Club... but not completely open as such. Raven seems to be taking care of JAC for us all! Will be good! -

I think I'm gonna need some swaybars really soon... hehe. don't wory, theres 8inches of rubber under the bum now so it wont fall off the road! As you would all know we did have a run planned but due to lack of time most of us had to pull out. I am still going nuts with the biggun planned for Aus Day but am happy to head out for somethign else! I think Stu mentioned a BBQ plus possible run for a Chrissie get together? Also, I'm not home much at the moment so I may be no use to the organising side.. Mel (the fiance) has very basly broken her ankle and is in the Royal Melb hospital (a bloody hours drive from my place!) so I'm either there of at work at the moment! So as for a run, I'm in as far as I can see but thats all I can give for the moment! Jarrad

Mmmm.... Magna... *caugh* Well, I will tally up the votes (still in election mode) and put a list up of people hwo have shown intrest and also the known group that WILL be there... ownt happen tonight as I'm about to go watch a bunch of ggorgeouse girls play Netball (such a shame) but will sort it when I'm back. I have had some places give a maybe, they want Numbers and a minimum of 2 nights on that weekend... Just so you all know the public holiday is on the MONDAY so we will leave Saturday and be back Monday. Stu, they only want you to come this year... they liked your car heaps and have recently broken down and need you to fix it, something about SU carbies... :P Actually, the park we were at last year were more than happy to have us all back.. maybe another year! Bring on the run! Even if I am driving a boat... hehe -
They had a few celicas with there stickers on them at Pick Pay n Go in ringwood a while back... one of them was Ians old car. A good way to get people interested I think. Haha, the R.I.P sprayed on the smashed one there was a good one too, anyone else seen it?

Yes, hopefully we may have somewhere around double the numbers of last year. We will see how we go! A quick update as I don't have much to report on as yet. Firstly Sorry we havent got many more plans etc up on the board at the moment. As with last year I am having a bit of trouble getting accomodation for a group such as ours... seems most places are worried we will be a bunch of drunken hoons (well... some of may be but still :) ) and therefore they will not take us. Whats probably going to happen is that I will be starting to pannic and a place will finally put up there hand to let us in the gates... I have a few more places to get hold of that sounded promising in there email so I will let you all know anything as soon as I find out. Thats it for now. JP -
Ahh you get that! yeah, its was a good turnout considering the rain... the run over there with 6 cars (including my uncles Val daily) was the best part really, trying to stop in the wet with drums all orund that were cold wasnt so much fun though!
-
No mre skids then webers??? dfunkt, give me yell when you need a hand and I will see what I can do!
-
Ok, it was wet... I mean REALLY WET on the Sunday. BUT... we still made the trip over and had a ball! 11 of us made the trip to packy from Bacchus Marsh in the pouring rain (some of which had no wipers!) and rather enjoyed our stay whilst there, even one an award! Some pics of our cars and some randoms... A bit wet... Old Farts in the carpark Band Tunnel of love Car Park Posing Old farts Overview Old Farts Pres and his sidekick Still Wet... P.S. Drum brakes all rounds rock in the wet...

-
All fixed on the dates... Will be there, me the missus and a bunch of mates (Old Farts Rod n Custom Club)from Mildura will be there. Look out for my Val wagon, an all black '55 Chev sedan, old gold '34 Ford coupe ute, light blue Cusso... maybe a 40 ford pickup too.. can't remember who else is making the trip down for it! Were heading over on the Sunday as we have a smaller meet on the Saturday. Should be getting the wagoon pin striped there as well :)

well I'm back after a small break whilst moving... bet nobody even noticed! hehe the rollas coming along nicely then Poz? Sounds good! Stu, the run sounds sweet. I'm not going to complain to much about the fuel consumption... after all, i do choose to drive it to work etc over the commo! Just so much more enjoyable. Looks sweet now shes on her ass too! And a pic of the new shed... next time we have a run over this way I can stock up the fridge and we will all fit! enough from me...
-
Well I pulled just over 60miles out of 35 litres yeaterday... not great on the hip pocket but damn does it look good doing it!
-
11th Suits me.. pretty sure anyway! I have Johns Rod n Custom weekend the weekend beforehand so I should have the bugs sorted with the car by then (and maybe know how much fuel its going to use!), mind you, I found a leak in the tank today... not good.
-
Sounds good... I'm only going to be living 35mins from Blahrat... so should be good. Wil get my mate to bring his Chev as well. All pending date of course. JP
-
Ahh yes... no one wanted to stir the pot anymore! The weekend of the 18th I'm away, can't think of anything else so the rest are good! Stu had a good idea for a run... HE SHOULD POST IT UP!!! JP

Roosa, Totaly understand. Family does come first. This may be why MRMOPARMAN may not be coming, its his missus' birthday the same weekend and he didnt get her a cake last time... not good! Ke10girl, sounds great. We are making the run go over the whole Australia day wekend this time. We only stayed one night last time, mainly because it was our first and wanted to keep it reasonably small to see how it all went. As Webers mentioned, it was a ripper of a weekend! don't worry, this one will be even better! We have people from QLD, SA and VIC on the run... Maybe Rollaclubs only tri-state event? I try to keep the accomodation costs prety low, just have your extra food and fuel to pay for. It was $25 per head last time including a goodies bag, breakfast and accomodation. Not bad at all... That'll do for now! Jarrad -

Well, we are moving at the moment and will be a bit out of the city... BUT... we have a fair bit of room. And yes... the Val can fit six and all of there luggage! And I can even tow a small tanker behind me for the extra fuel :y: Hahaha, and I'm putting the twin carb setup on there before the run! sluuurrrppppp...... -

well, maybe you should do a teddy and fly over? plenty of cars to get into over here and it would probably cost you less that driving? Could even show you round Melb then! Just a thought... -
