Well Hello there everyone. Great work on the run Simon, from what I hear it was a good blend of Stu's original Noojee run and the "Mt can't figure out how to say" run. Appologies for not doing the mountain treck, Mel and I got back home just after 5pm and we left the pub about 2pm! And on top of that I used almost $120 worth of fuel! NICE! Have some pics to throw up, camera didnt like the traveling in the Wagoon as I was going way to fast for a 45 year old car, you get that. So sorry for the ... ahh... "action" shots. Was good to see some familiar faces and mee tup with some new ones. Oh... and it was good to try and shake some of the Rola's off my tale through the twisties! I didnt do to bad I recon! Drum brakes FTW!... Ahhhh... Wagoons??? Since 1925? Well, kinda 10 points to whoever guesses WTF this is! Apparently its pretty good... Happy camper... and only $18 + meal price worse off. Was that Chicken or Beef???

Oh dear... I'm in trouble then! Drums all round, 1500+kg's and skinny worn radials all round. The missus is going to kill me on this run! hahaha Well, at least I will sound good cruising around the place... and suckin nice cold air in through the bonnet scoop! Hope it doesnt rain............ JP

Pub for me... will need to rest my arms after driving the bloody val round the track!

Rolla'boy, the Crewman was done a fair while back, was in street machine maybe mid last year? or come to think of it, might have been the year before... can't remember! The owner also has a mad orange and cream 70's el'camino with a 50's studibaker front and rear grafted on, you can't miss it! 55 wags is pretty rough but its pretty hot... AP wags wins because... well, because its mine! hehehe Twin Carbs are back on and I drove it to work (just under an hours drive) sunday with straight out headers so I could get it to the exhaust shop today. A very fun drive indeed! ke30driver, the XD will be out and about soon and is due for a photo shoot with street machine so you will be able to se it in there. I don't have anymore decent pics, sorry. Davros, cheers for the parts hunt help, will get in touch when I find myself missing something! Were actually building a nostalgia drag racing rail (or HAMBster as they are known) running a hot slant 6... will possibly get some pics up here. And philbey, Green FTW! And another couple that were done at work.. the 32 is/was my bosses. And some other cars I work on, Mine, My mate Deanos 55 4 door and another mates blue Cusso. Deanos old mans 34 coupe ute (about 7 left in the world! been on the road for almost 30 years hot rodded) and another mates ford pickup (Henry's Twuck). All taken at or on the way to last years rather wet "Johns rod n custom" picnic. Should keep you all a little happy til I find some more pics! JP
-
the 26 should come up sweet Tate.. you have to get it to your place first! Cam, cheers for the kind words. I can't take the credit for much of it though, I have a great boss that is teaching me well though. The AP5 will be getting done this year, should be starting it soon. Dark green and pearl white to match the soon to be metalflake green roof! Should be sweet. JP

Cheers everyone... and sorry for the delayed replies, I don't get as much net time as I used to! The 55 wags is bagged, has dropped spindles up front to get the k frame on the ground (it sits in on the concrete floor at work) and the rear has had the tunnel raised about an inch and the bags thrown in with the original leaves. Shes pretty ratty (and rusty) but it my favourite Chev (hepls that its a wagon not a nomad too). Will update as more cars come into work, I have only taken photos on some occasions... but as there is so much interest in them I will try to take a pic of them all as they come and will post them up for all to see... And I will see what else I can come up with! JP Oh, and yes... I love my Job!

For Mick... runs 11's...

No mustangs for a while actually... Last one was a 65 Convertable that we did the soft top on. Some more for you all. The Camaro... You will all like this, shes running a bloody big block (Around 572ci) pumping out over 600hp at the fly... and thats before the blower goes on! Its now running 20inch wheels as well. The XD's rear The 58's trim Best thin to do after a hard days work...
-
much easier to bring your own.... saves the cash handling and also, if you don't bring some food you don't eat... or something like that! SHould be good... count me in. I worked it out, its going to cost me about $80 in fuel for the run! hehehe JP
-
More pics coming... Yes yes, trimmers can be handy... provided you can find time to fit in all of the back yard jobs people have for you! I'm run off my feet with work these days, I have had my car for over 6 months now and I'm only just starting the trim! Bit of info on the cars above. The 58 Chev in the first pic is a work of art. 6 years to finish and 4 windscreens broken trying to chop it to shape (its had a 4inch roof chop, about $20k's worth!), air bags and a hot 400ci Chev/turbo 700 combo and many, many hours of body work to get it looking that good. Keep an eye out in Cruizin magazine and Australian street rodding for it soon. The FC ute/crewman... where do you start? made from a overrated ute and a wagon it has a full size rear seat area yet only 4 seats (mazda buckets) due to a full length steel centre console that runs from the rear window to the dash. Air, steer, 350/350/9inch combo and rear helper bags for the extra weight. Also, the side trim is all airbrushed! Over 2500 hours to build this baby! 36 ford ute is owned by the owner of the lightning cleans products owner... can't begin to describe this ute... too much to mention! 55 Chev wagon is my favourite (I love wags), its only just been bought in from the states and is in our shop at the moment (how come customs didnt find the mice in the roof lining? I did!) and runs a VERY VERY tough engine/driveline combo and gets its patinad look from sitting outside for many years before the recent owner swapped his running gear into it and baged it (with many other mods to get it that bloody low). GOing to be a great ratty cruiser... the way I like them. Next is just a view of the shop showwing "chev city" as we are refered too. The cleanest XD I have ever seen. Period. All steel 28 Tudor... very nice indeed... show quality and would be a wild ride with the blown small block. This 32 was recently unfinished at the Vic Hotrod Show and we trimmed it to go to the nationals in Tassis ovr easter. A well thought out traditional styled rod... amazing what you can do with fibreglass these days! And my AP5 Val wagoon... In need of paint and a new set of whitewalls! Getting the exhaust split into a proper twin system next week (currently splits into two after the exhaust manifold, will be split to the extractors now for a barky note) and will be running my twin carbs again... thats about all I have done bar a good clean and a 5inch drop in the rear and 3 in the front! hehe Hope this gets you where you need to be ... :) JP

Just thought is would be rude of me not to share some of these pics... As we are all car lovers I think some of you will enjoy this thread! I work for a reputable Motor Trimmer in Melbournes west that deals with this sort of work daily, so as much as I love them its just normal for me to see this kind of stuff now and as such I probably don't appreciate it as I used to. Enough blabbing... will let the pics do there thing. And sorry if the pics are a bit blury... all taken on my mobile! JP And my own ride because I can!
-
There will also be a list added to the first post for eas of looking up... it will be updated when possible. SHould make it easier to check up on. Simon, nice work on the run so far. Will be looking forward to it. Gives me a date to have the twins sorted out properly on the wagon and have the exhaust changed too.... will be good. JP.

don't worry, were looking! Alot of us would be up for a longer cruise but then alot of us won’t be either. One thing to consider when looking at a longer cruise is, well, the time involved. I’m one of those people that always want the run to go for longer, look at our Athurs Seat run for instance. I didnt even get to bring a decent car and I had a ball! The problem with long runs is the fact that we all have to get home at some point, looking at the trip from Noojee it will take the marsh crew over 2 hours to get there via Lilydale (whereis.com so not accounting for traffic) and about the same to get home, add another 40ish minutes for the Ballarat guys. Even Frankston is almost 2 hours away and that’s where the majority of the crew will come from... aka rent-a-crowd! Anyway, the rant is getting to why the run was going to be an hour and a half plus pub/bullshit time, so that will be another hour, hour and a half easy. so when you look at it this way Tate, Kate myself and Deano will have an 8ish hour day on our plates! Mind you, Tates nuts so he won’t mind a bit :nervous: On another note, I'm really liking the enthusiasm your showing towards getting a run crackin, I'm sure I'm not the only one! You’re as bad as Tate! (So thats what... 3 Tate refs so far??? Jeeeeez) Keep it up, the run WILL happen, but it will happen when time permits. Things just seem to fall into place all of a sudden with runs around here, shouldn’t be long now. JP
-
Sounds good Joel, Provided the wagoons still on the road keep an eye out for it! will post up whats happening closer to the date. Should be a good day... JP
-
Leeroy, was thinking the same thing.. we have a run organised (pretty much) that never eventuated... Stu, your back online, did you have the details handy? I can't remember if its in a post here or not? JP
-
OUch it is... Hi there Chris, Jarrad here. Welcome to the club... and as you have found were not all young hoons (just some of us  ) and as you will also find, not all of us drive Rollas. If you like them then were happy to have you onboard, in fact, even if you don't like them but contribute positively were still pretty happy! We will be having a run sometime soon so come along and meet the crew. Just keep an eye out in the Vic section for the details. JP
-
True to bogun Bacchus, " I'll Learn Ya!" Well Tate, you earnt a gold star in my books... you had my boss confused all week as he runs 12s in his Chev and hasnt ever broken anything. He was like, "Nos?????" ... nope. "Turbo????"... Ahh... nope. "Hmm, hes on drugs!". And anyway, the launch at the drags was nothing, you should here him leave my place! JP
-
can't wait to see the Wagoon in a big... uncontrolable power slide! :jamie: Might need some power first. Actually, I would like to get back into some racing... if only to watch the vids afterwards and see me lookin like I have 8 arms going from lock to lock in the Val! Might just take the Commo... hehe Cam, your right, Drag racing isnt much of a sport in a slow car... but its only what you make of it. I had a ball killing my times when I raced and I only had a best of 16.29! Mind you, in my old Torana it was heaps more fun (and this was on the 1/8th) as it would hit boost and you would be all over the place... like a tarmac slaylom without the hats! JP
-
Mmmm, wagon! Sounds great! Welcome to all the new members, havent had much computer time to say G'day and get to know you all yet! As Matt has mentioned, things are a little slow round the Vic section at the moment, don't worry though, its a bit of a yearly thing... everyone has to get over the silly season only to be confronted by easter and a bunch of public holidays! Things will kick off once more sometime soon and we will have a few more runs up our sleeves. Anyway, just a few pointers to those who havent already done so. Make sure your location is in your profile so we all know where your from. Also, treat everyone how you would like to be treated around the place, if your a pain in the arse you will forever be known as a pain in the arse. And if you have any questions about anything give me a PM or send one to the person directly involved etc. Were always happy to help. So I hope you manage to get as much out of Rollaclub as myself and many others round here do. Enjoy, JP

2nd Annual Rollaclub Great Ocean Rd Cruise
TheNOBBLER replied to TheNOBBLER's topic in VIC / Melbourne
Hello all! Just thought I would give you the heads up that I will be geting some photos up soonish from the run... Getting my computer fixed so I can get cracking on it! As for videos, I am still unable to load it up due to the lap top being out of order as well, If anyone has provision for a firwire cable to be hooked up and load it oto your computer, let me know. I can just take a copy of it with me then and get editing! Lets see what happens! JP -
Sounds great Matt! Another thing to remember is dayligh savings are almost over... so we must be due for a drive in night! We had a dismal turnout last year... although the movies were pretty good! This would be something to do in the meantime... would be pretty close and its more of a "coffee n scone" event for those of us who don't want a big drive. don't worry, I'm still up for wrestling the val round corners... been working out in the gym for it! lol. But I know there are some who would prefer something a little more sedate. Anyway, just thought I would throw that in the mix once more. JP.

Hey Hey hey, I have a rolla... its .. ahh... Rollin around in my head somewhere :jamie: A run would be good but I do have to appologise in advance, I have a buggered computer that needs wiping so net access is limited atm. But you can always get me on my phone! 0400843198! As said, a run would be good but we all do need a little time to get things sorted... the GOR run seems to have put everyone into limp home mode! The wagoon is up for anything as it sits... running well but is missing a carbie... so its low and slow for me! And welcome to the club to chief, lets keep things rollin. JP
