The oval sucks... No shade! Or cover in case of rain :P
-
I can start bringing them to meetings in about 15 yeah :D
-
Would be great to have you lot along, I will be leaving for hanging rock from Bendigo along with some other members. If your thinking of cruising in with a group it would be easier to meet up with us along the way. We will most likely try to park with or near the tccav crew as well... Especially as I have there banners! JP

Go Cam! If I get time I would love the lux calipers for the wagon, if someone grabs em for me I will happily pay in cash or cans! There is a clean ke70 at ashley St wreckers sunshine almost complete and has a new radiator. JP

I'm out for a while, birthing classes are on Tuesdays and the bubs only 5 weeks away... Will hit meetings when I get let out!
-
Yeah, but they don't call Stu nana for no reason! Plus it seems stu is running an interesting combo of box and diff parts so I'm not sure it then are jap unis. Mind you, I'm running two fresh jap unis in mine and I have given it heaps, just take a look at the marks in my driveway! The blown 5k hasn't killed them yet... But it has chewed a bearing in te gearbox. JP

Jeez Cam, didn't even realise the beast had a thread! It's way overdue for an update. JP

Jeez I feel like a tool Micko! I thought you were leaving thursday morning not Tuesday, will have to do dinner when we hit adelaide instead! Back on topic though, this car kicks ass. Has the looks, tge grunt and even has Mel thinking about an auto one for a family car. Can't beat that! Thanks heaps for making the trip over for the gor trip, always good to catch you! JP

Mel and I are still recovering! What a weekend! Thankyou to all for the thanks and for making the ocean road trip such a great event. Gets better every year! I still can't believe the rolls made it! But only just with an almost shagged gearbox on the way home. Fun fun! JP -
Cheers Poz, even 4.11's would be much better I think. If I ever do a diff swap I will probably go borgwarner out of a skyline etc for the disk rear and ease of getting parts etc. Can't beat em. They are a little big though but you get that. Will be swapping boxes asap, I have a show this weekend I want to get to and I'm hoping to drive it to Bendigo the weekend after for an engagement party then to picknick at hanging rock on the way home. Should be good... Provided its still going! JP

Hahaha, the "what's going to break first?" sweep is a mystery, I'm can't remember who had gearbox! Most people thought the diff would go and that it would have gone by now! As for the spare box keep it for a while, I will put the spare in and go from there. This one was a bit noisy so I assume it was on the way out anyway, as far as I know the other ksev one is fine... Will find out soon. Also looking to swap diffs out of the ke11, if the ratios are any better I would be pretty happy. At the moment I have enough torque to leave the line in 3rd without breaking a sweat, first is almost useless and second isn't much better. I'm assuming the auto gears are 4.3:1 or something like that? I want to go lower fpr sure. JP

Sounds like a plan then. She's hard starting but otherwise fine. So I tricked a few people on the weekend, said it wouldn't be making the GOR trip but I turned up in it :) used 3 tanks of juice to most peoples talk and a half but I was the only boosted rolla cruising around. Ran great but really rich and didn't get over 80deg even on the 40deg day. Mind you, I broke an exhaust hanger and killed a 5 speed box on the way home! Tis fine if you don't need and gears bar 3rd and 5th! Lucky I have a spare! JP

Ahh, so that's where he got to. Couldn't get hold of Ryan on his mobile and noone knew where he went! Great pics and progress guys, keep it up! JP

Directions will be in your goodie bag :) See you all in a matter of hours... keep your eyes peeled fo the excelasoaras! JP -
Hmm... Interesting! I'm running an internal igniter 5k dizzy, just what the motor and box combo came with. Turns out it had a BHG so that certainly wouldn't had made hot starts easier, it started piece of piss when cold but not when hot, that's what got me thinking it wasn't timing related. Fixed that now but it's still not enjoying starting. Kickn5k's blown beast runs near 30deg locked timing without a fuss, I always assumed it was the starter but I suppose he is running around a full point lower comp than me too! JP

I'm itchy... But it's not because of gor ;) Well, it's just past midnight and dfunkt just went home... And it's still running like a bag o shite. At least the excels got a big boot to fit all the goodies bags! See you all Saturday morning, 8am meet up for a no later than 9am departure! JP -

And if tates is to hard to find I have one you can have as well. See how you go. In fact, he will be at my place anyway if you come tonight! Goodluck! -
Dfunkt just got in before me! The max timing I can get into it is about 26deg, runs great but without a reduction gear starter it's a no go... JP
-
Hey Taz, Dizzy is locked internally and timing is currently set at 15deg, runs much better at 20deg but I thought that the increase in temp may have been timing related. Turns out my radiator just shit itself and that was that. Reset the timing to 20deg and went for a drive with the radiator cap not on properly and it's quite happy and pulls well through the rev range, screwed the cap on properly and it was all over. Fired it up thismorning and once itcleaned itself out she runs like normal until it warms up. I will be playing with the timing on the dyno and giving my vac advance a workout for cruising but that all going to be trial and error. Until I get stuck into going efi that is. JP

Cooling... Fixed that issue today with an excel radiator and twin fan conversion. Only confirmed the headgasket after letting it warm up then putting the radiator cap on, then it was put put put time. Bugger. Will be changing the head gasket tomorrow night with the helping hand of dfunkt but it won't be getting a skim, no time and no coin! Will see how it goes I guess. JP -
