  1. I will give you the tip, Vic roads is currently culling there amount of rwc license testers, any small stuff up on the testers behalf is resulting in them having there license revoked. So what I'm saying is a thorough full roady is all your going to get, no one is really being lenient. So hopefully your happy with someone going right though it! Next question, where and how far west are you? I could recoment westbound automotive in braybrook just off Ballarat road (lacy street maybe?), there quality of work is great, talk to Marty or Pete, a roady will set you back about $100 though but there dear these days. Another place, braybrook exhausts might be a bit easier on you but I doubt it. Jo is good for a chat and they do ok work, better priced that westbound but you get what you pay for. Cheers, JP

  6. So, E-go is not a dirty word? ;) Thanks all for the input, will give you a call shortly Dave about the courier. I'm assuming they do a door to door service? And thanks to those willing to go out of there way, will keep you all posted on what happens. Jarrad
  7. Aus post sounds good, I figured they would send them. The sellers not keen on boxing them up and posting them, that's where my problem is. I will however have to see what the max size and weights are for aus post, I have a complete blower setup to get from The Elimbah area to here as well. The wheels are in worongary, only a pair. Cheers for the info so far, will head to the post office on the way home. JP
  8. Won't believe it til it happens!!!!! He should be there, its only one night so he can handle it!
  9. Hi all, As the topic says I need to get a pair of wheels from the goldcoast back home to melb, there stripped of tyres and waiting to be picked up. The seller told me postage would be sorted but now wants them picked up only due to being to busy working, would someone be able to pick them up for me and either let a courier pick them up or drop them off at a depot? As per usual there will be some sort of payment organised for your time etc. Cheers, Jarrad
  10. Looks like the whole strut towers been pushed back against the firewall... Would make a sweet trailer :lolcry:
  11. Well I won't be running twin carbs anymore... But I will still be making lots of aural entertainment :hmm: I'm doing a trip to Apollo bay soon so I will be booking accomodation and sorting out some event locations/ideas etc while I'm there. Should be good. Great to see more interest from newish members as well, not to mention interstaters! Someone might take the longest distance award off Ted and Justin! JP
  12. November... Can do! I try toget to this every year so I might have to make a point of it this year!
  13. The 30 4 door at ashleys is now gone, along with 80% of there cars it will be on a supermarket shelf near you soon... On a good note, there's 92ish twincam complete at dear park wreckers. Also two 1uz powered lexus' there. JP
  14. Yep, the marong show is pretty cruisy and tends to get a great mix of cars. And it's an easy drive along the Calder. Won't be makin this one personally, will be getting my new shed ready for concrete and storm water! Get some pics Adam. JP
  15. Sounds interesting... It's got me interested. Will be watching this thread. Might be the upgrade I need.
  16. I would have thought the lower comp would have been the manual cars not auto, Holden did it for years. Kept the manual and auto cars about the same speed among other reasons. The bb28 should be great, stu (kickn5k) has just bought one for his ke11, changing from his blown setup to the turbo to throw 20odd psi at the 5k. As for k motor or not, for the extra effort you will get a quicker possibly more reliable car with a later model engine, mind you I loge the idea of a boosted k, my kind of challenge. JP
  17. Ahh... I know this car! Glad to see it's gone to a good home. Previous owner was just telling me the other day that it had gone, it was time to let someone with the time to tidy it up take it home. Will be watching this one come together, especially with that front end on it :jamie: Oh... And good to see Cam took you for a spin in his track car! The bloke can steer!
  18. and theres no e39... e38 there is but I'm pretty sure they would be refering to the e49... thats got my vote!
  19. Yeah, I'm with Cam on keeping the existing engine. You already have it and pistons etc don't cost the earth. I think late bigports were 7 rib (as you have said yours is) so that should be a perfect start for a turbo project anyway. Your goal is quite achievable and should last a long time as it won't be to stressed JP
  20. Yeah, the zoom article makes it known that it's a 3k. Masses of work went into getting it to do the times he wanted, something about proving a point! If he's selling it he's probably hit a very high 12, that was the plan. JP
  21. I won't be clicking the link in that case! :/
  22. Sorry, I should have also said it depends on the weather, the track prep (will be different if a big event has just been run etc), your tyres, launch etc I didn't see what track was mentioned but down south I get more grip on ballarats 1/8th mile track (that's normally used as an airstrip) than I do at Calder parks street meets. If it were a big event the track prep would have me sticking to the ground as red mentioned and snapping axles or tearing up 1st gear in my wagon. And that's in a slow car. Sorry if I was misunderstood. Ride the clutch a bit off the line to save the diff, it's the shock loading that will kill it. Or too much power for that matter. I was tought long ago a great way to stage in a manual car, pull the handbrake on once staged keeping your thumb on the button, bring the revs up and take up the clutch whilst using the handbrake to keep you from moving, once the lights come down you release the clutch and brake and get into it with no shock loading to kill the rear end... Just your clutch :( I will stop rambling, go have fun and get on the track!
  23. Realistically at a street meet the tracks not going to be that sticky, I used to have less traction on street tyres at the track than on the street in my twincam! It will still hook up if your doing it right and to be honest, it's not going to cause you much more grief than launching hard at a set of traffic lights. I'm looking forward to you getting out there, will give me an indication of how much slower my car will be with the 5k :D
  24. How longs a piece of string??? There are soo many variables to look at here, have you raced before? That's usually the biggest variable in racing. Get in a groove, figure out how the cars reacting, work out the right tyre pressures for you and have a ball! If it's not somewhere around (or lower) than a flat 15sec pass then buy a box of matches :D JP
  25. I like the way you two are thinking! :D
