  1. ok so last night I got the 6 pin plug and connected a wire straight from the yellow green stripe to the yellow temp sensor at the front of the motor. The car was warm and it didn't seem to move the needle so I then earthed the yellow green striped wire directly from the 6 pin plug to tue body and it still didn't move the needle. is there a fuse or something for the cluster? I pulled the cluster out and everything is plugged in so I don't understand why ita not working? Do I have to connect power to the 6 pin plug? Also for the fuel sender I tried the same sort of thing to see if the needle would move by earthing it and it didn't move... I need these to work because I'm paranoid about the temp and amount of fuel in the car just incase it's heating too much, I don't want a blown head gasket. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks

  3. thanks mate ill try it tomorrow and ill keep you updated!
  4. well I don't know why the fuel sender isn't working then although I have taken the tank off and added an internal pump for the surge tank setup but I plugged the sender back in... Do you know where the temp sender is located on the motor? Thanks a lot mate!
  5. yeah, like I said earlier I've put a 4AGE in but I want to know what color is the temp sensor and where do i connect it to on the motor? and the same deal with the fuel sender, how do I connect it up?
  6. Hey guys I've just got my KE70 up and running with the 4AGE. I wanted to know how to connect up my temp and fuel gauges on my dash. I've been googling it and its just seemed to confuse me a little. But I'm pretty certain that the plug on the fire wall near the brake booster is for the cluster?
  7. Hey guys I'm still new to the 4AGE seen but I've just finished doing a 4AGE conversion on my KE70. Had it up and running last night which made me proud of myself lol Any way on a more serious note, I changed all the fluids in the car today and then connected up the temp sender on the firewall and gave it crank and it started but there was smoke coming out of the exhaust??? I'd like to add that my oxy sensor is not getting a proper reading as it is just at the end of the extractors held on by a bolt as I've had no time to get an exhaust made up but i'll be heading out to get one made up this weekend. Could this be because the oxy sensor is not getting a good reading? Possible vacuum leak? ecu error or sensor related? Surge tank setup pushing forward too much fuel? (VLT internal and external pumps) Could someone please send me in the right direction? Thanks
  8. i got it but i got ripped off from a wrecker... ended up paying $95 for the loom and then i realised i only need the 2 plugs from the entire loom! I've got another question to ask. -The 5 pin plug on the back of the ecu which is the fuel pump relay(COR Relay). Is the thick black wire for that just an earth plug? Thats what I figured it to be from following it back down?
  9. Hey guys I'm currently putting a 4AGE bigport from an AE82 into my KE70 and I have it all dropped in ready to go with the harness attached and plugged up to the engine. Today I went to go plug in the ecu and I realised that there wasn't a 14 pin plug for the ecu? I'm pretty sure there is supposed to be one as that has the +B1,+ B and Batt terminals that I need power when doing the wiring from what I've researched. Also I couldn't find the 5 Pin plug for the relay located behind the ECU and the 3 pin round plug for the alternator? My guess is that I am missing a loom which is seperate from the engine loom? or is there something I don't know? Can anyone help me? Thanks
  10. thanks mate! I'll try it out bud I did get one from repco to suit an ae86 but the bearing was too big to fit inside the fork. Another thing is where can I get a pair of TRD copies from in VIC?
  11. Hey guys I'm currently doing a conversion on my KE70 as the 4K decided to throw a rod on the freeway. So I've picked up an AE82 with a 4AGE and a JDM T50 gearbox. I've been told the thrust bearing isn't the same as the AE82 so ive been trying to get one but havn't had much luck finding it. Does anyone know of any clutch places I can go and see around VIC? or even someone I can call? or a part number? Thanks Bally
  12. Hey guys I'm in the process in doing a 4age conversion in my KE70 and i've recently bought a JDM T50 box. I've been doing a lot of reading and I've been chasing a AE71 pedal box for the conversion and was told a T18 pedal box would work? Is this correct??? thanks guys!
  13. Hey all! I've recently purchased a KE70 and am planning to make it into a little track hack but I need a couple of pointers to get started. First I need to work out what 4AGE I bought lol is it a bigport series one (i think bluetop) or series 2 (redtop?). There is an attached image if thats any help guys. The engine is currently resting itself in a 1985 corrolla sx AE82. Secondly I've been doing some searching on the forums and I couldn't seem to find a wiring diagram for the loom. Do I have to combine the two? Or can I just run the complete AE82 loom? :blinks: Any help would be much appreciated. Bally
