just swapped some h4 headlights in, and got a new bulb,one was loose on its holster so it bounced around and it was on an angle , i tried to solder it but the metal was to dirty

yeah its a shocker too i have to get that done asap b4 i get pulled over and inspected :D

well i thought id post some pics of the hideous cancer that rots the corolla so basically windows,firewall, gaurds and boot , I'm off to buy a boot seal today , sand back the rust convert it,metho it, prime it and get a new boot seal cuz this is the old one well on a lighter note here are some other pics bit of denting on bonnet from previous owner, bonnet is slightly raised and chrome stripping is dented. headlight candy neone?chrome headlight rings from the donor vehicle(74 ke30 2dr sedan rust n bog on a chassis)

did the points the other day and has been fine since, also got a new fuel filter cuz the old one had 2 straight nozzles n i needed one with the right angle turn to fit nicely and also got smaller hoses to make sure there would be no petrol leaking ( replaced 5/16" with 1/4")

cheers , i put a bosch gt40 in with a resistor on the original bracket but the points actually ended up being the problem , i checked them when i did the ignition timing but since then they pitted n there was no gap, so made a gap n taadaah she started! runs fine but I'm getting new points today n i think ill look closer next time to avoid being imobile ! cheers for all your help guys

cheers checked this when i checked the leads it pushes up fine n all I'm gonna check the resistor n test the ignition coil

they get hot because they limit the current in the circuit this creates heat giving it the potential to get so hot it melts the metal inside losing contact between the two ends.

ah yep a reistor in a ceramic housing connected to and next to the ignition coil saw one in a ke55 today at the wreckers but havent noted one one my car unless its hiding somewhere ill suss it out cheers

check the leads n did resistance test, and compression test all ok , now car wont start check distributor sanded rotor down a bit checked point gap all ok but can't still wont start. tried roll starting n jump starting starter motor kicks over engine but no spark , will check for spark from ignition coil tomoz n replace with another to check

cheers but i don't think ill try drive it till ive sussed it out more i don't want cracked pistons or rings or nething major I'm too poor atm to afford ne repairs

took off vacuum advance the other day took it easy felt loss of power connected it up again I'm thinking fuel wise somethings off cuz of the way it acts on the revs cuz as soon as i try to rev it starts restricting n backfiring might suss out the carb again n use some aerosol carby cleaner :D

did the timing bout 1 week ago had it at 10degress odc then back to 8 n tightened the leads n checked the distributor as well cheers for the help

blew through the fuel hose the other day n it didnt seem to be leaking or restricted?

ok i need this car at 8am tomoz so ne help would be good admin nebody? sounds like a lawnmower with no guts couldnt even get up my driveway!

hey my 3k is not revving up , it is backfiring/not reveving. few at very low revs it runs fine down hills etc but as soon as i accelerate there is restriction n it keeps on backfiring/making popping noises so i guess its the carb seeing as the fuel pump/filter/oil/timing/ignition is all fine and ive run plenty of carby cleaner through recently , previous owner fitted a new fuel pump n rebuilt the carb. common problem or what ?n what should i do to fix it ?

i think i seen these fake bov's on a video , they are called howlers, highly annoying and illegal money better spent on a decent sound system ( not sony explode :) ) jaycar all the way with a jvc HU :D

ill take some more pics of the interior n so on tomoz when shes clean n its dry , hmm I'm not a fan of my vinyl seats cuz they become very sticky in summer but the interior is mostly white although its cracked ripped n stained

yeah i would like to have her rust free dent free and with a nice lick of paint. i did see a nice datto 1600 in hot fours with a daihatsu warm silver mmm that did look nice but then again blue with silver racing stripes :P trouble is theres always those damn trolleys and soccer moms in 4wds that dent and run, she was really overrated when i first got her , very little rust n hardly a nick but thats changed from taking her to shopping centres, iv found many scratches and dents that randomly appear. , yeah its a ke30 "L" don't get what the L is for-limited or luxury? i think its a bit more limited luxury wise :y:

WOW that is one hell of an effort! are you guys using it as a show car or what ? hmmm id never take this out past the garage door :P but if you ever sell it in the same kinda nick id be very interested ! Gr8 work keep it up.

cheers. i was thinking of a ford blue or a silver. possibly with "racing stripes" but i think it might have been too riced now. I'm still deciding on the interior - doors i think ill do black pods going along the base of the doors with white going to the top and silver winders handles etc

G'day all this is my 2dr ke30 (75) its got the shameful 3k but hopefully a worked 2tg will be going in the next few months( when money permits) I'm doing an all round package, engine, driveline ,suspension, paint , stereo and interior . Shes pretty clean although rust has come through in the usual spots. paint is also flaking so i gotta start on her. I have only got a couple pics but there will be more soon..ish
