Welding A Borgy Centre Thru The Rear Plate.
crunk81us replied to crunk81us's topic in General Mechanical
Thanks heaps. It shall be done. Only needs to last a couple of events. I will sort out a more permanent solution later. -
So, taking the ke20 in a couple of sprints, need traction badly. All I want to know is, can I weld the diff centre with it still in the car. Mate says it can be done.. I'm dubious. Can I remove the rear plate on the borgy and weld it up?? Please no for and against welded diff arguments. Just a little tech support :)

Pug Hilux Brakes Ke20, Fit 13Inch Rims?
crunk81us replied to crunk81us's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
cheers. I need/really want to keep 13's.. -
Just wanting to know what size wheels will fit Over the pug Hilux brake upgrade.. The pug rotors are like 275ish mm so I'm thinking it would be close.. Anyone squeezed 13's over them?

Dropped the box out. Oil on clutch, looks burnt.. don't know if I want to risk of cleaning the used oily burnt clutch.. but don't have money to burn atm. around $550 delivered is a flywheel clutch combo from the states. Wont be doing the hilux diff for a while if at all.. welded standard borgy, and brakes staying for a while, as i search for a better (cheaper) option.. they're not so bad anyway.. maybe a remote booster.. I think i have one somewhere.

Thanks everyone :) should give me plenty to go on.

If its just longer bolts that's pretty a fairly close fit. Nice to know they're close.

Yeh that's right whiteline don't list/make them anymore.. It's a shame they used to do a complete suspension upgrade for the ke2x I remember reading about the development of it in a magazine a decade + ago.. Thanks for the addco link. I hadn't found anyone who made them at all! I did think about running 2 standard bars, but I would prefer a more legal, unmodified look.

diff goes in next week to get shortened and diff flange centred, the air locker centre installed, and spring mounts relocated. being 5 stud diff, i am looking at lots of options for the front brakes/suspension etc. I would love to keep my 13x6 114.3x4.. but oh well. looking at the hopper stoppers big brake kit, ae86 coilovers from ttt and sundries.. omg! technotoytuning! i could go bankrupt with that site! will be chasing some nice lightweight 15" to fit 195 45 rubber. the issue on my gearbox leaking is the front box bearing spacer that is required for the 4age bellhousing.. its getting turned now. and i am looking at a lightweight flywheel and clutch combo from fleabay usa to solve my slippage issues while the box is out. theres always something to do on this thing. I just wanna drive it around and have fun

Looking for info on ke20 swaybars, pic of it turning now (trying to anyway): ok so i did touch the gutter but it looks pretty much like that anyway.. my searching has an uncovered an unconfirmed "ta22 celica bolt in" and "the standard ta22 is a good cheap upgrade" If the ta22 is a "bolt in" (or close to it) I am wondering whether it would be worth looking at an upgraded ta22 one from whiteline? or what are you running? options from whiteline 20mm, and 24mm 4 point adjustable (making it 23-26mm strength) I'm thinking the 24mm is overkill. my situation: ke20 4age, will be running coilover ae86 strut, hopper stoppers kit,195 45 15 semi slicks for street use and for motorkhanas, street sprints, maybe hill climbs etc. I am more interested in the sport side of things not how nice it is on the road. currently has standard borgy rear end standard springs with inverted leaf. sits low and level with kings lowered in front , going to shortened hilux diff with arb air locker, and will work out the rear end a bit better after that..

4A Bellhousing To 20 Spline T50 And Clutch Slip Help Plz
crunk81us replied to crunk81us's topic in General Mechanical
Engine is dry as a bone. No leaks anywhere. I think I'm going to order one of those new hd clutch and lightweight flywheel kits.. -
Ok so I have put into my ke20 a smallport 4age with t50 20 spline.. my build thread : http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/60867-another-4age-ke20/page__hl__%20another%20%204age I have 2 issues one which i think i have found the answer to. 1. i have an issue with oil leaking between the bellhousing and box. (i have found that i need a spacer ring on the input bearing.. will this be causing the box to move on the bh and leak oil?) 2. clutch slip. I have an almost new exedy clutch in there and afaik i have standard smallport hp. It slips really bad. could the spacer ring i didnt know about be causing this issue as well? any advice greatly appreciated, i don't want to keep pulling it apart.. if i need a hd clutch i would rather get it now before i drop the box again.. (5th time for oil leak)

Yeh I understand the busy with work thing. once the engine was in and running i just smashed it out. ebay civic rad with fan, almost never needs the fan, awesome at keeping the temps down, only just needs it at the end of the last lap in vid.. surge tank was easy, and its great for keeping the fuel/weight at a minimum, i can hear the lift pump rattle when the tank is getting real low, so i thro another 5 litres in.. I still have a couple of bits to do, I have a leak between the gearbox and bellhousing that i can't figure out. and a bad clutch slip issue (worse than in the vid) also working on an rn25 hilux diff and an arb air locker, half cage.. its going to be never ending i think.. brakes, suspension, stronger engine..

Mine were mounted using 8mm flat bar between the rear 2 original mounts. And a 5mm steel plate with a nut under the 2 front mounts. Bolted to the rails that came with the same seats as urs.

planning on a light flywheel, and considering lightweight pulley kit.. have heard some stories of the cranks snapping with lightened pulleys tho. something to do with harmonics.. i have some nice light alloys in 13x6. toe in/out.. honestly not sure, probably out, atm it hasnt even had an alignment.. what am i looking for on that page?
