  1. looks good. i just ordered my flares.
  2. Aaaaargh! I mustn't have measured correctly. My 13 inch wheels bind on the calipers! Going to try some 15mm spacers.
  3. Rotors are redrilled 262mm off 86/87 honda legend.. With commodore calipers. Never heard of that setup before.
  4. brake upgrade started pulled the ke55 struts apart. was a bit of a mission getting the caliper off as the wheel bearing needs loosening to get the caliper to move enough to be able to get the caliper bolt past the bottom of the strut. so start with the wheel bearing and work from there (backwards to the way i wld normally do it. cleaned up the calipers with some vht paint. and a couple of pics showing the increase in size. need to get rotors machined up and can start bolting it back together. hoping to replace all my front end bushes and swaybar while its apart and might blow some paint on stuff while its out.
  5. haha umm nah i have a ute already.. just very slowly gathering little bits and pieces for it. Got a ta22 swaybar for it. It needs a head gasket and is massively underpowered (yes i know they are but it would be lucky to get 40kmh.... thinking i would like to find a cheap, mildly worked not to long ago rebuilt 3/4/5k to bolt in. (too lazy to rebuild myself lol)

  7. Update. New strut inserts, 20mm swaybar,full nolathane bush kit front and back, now ready to go in. Hoping to drop the entire front suspension and paint it all before reassembly. Also picked up some brake setup off a ke55 with appx 250mm vented rotors and calipers that fit under my 13's! Need to figure out what they are so I can get a decent set of pads. I was hoping they were Jdm ae86 brakes but these seem better. Got them off egay for bugger all bloke didn't know what he was selling :D Will take some pics on the weekend. Also in my parts bin to be going in very soon are some cam tech 272's performance springs adjustable gears and trd head gasket. Getting my spare head tidied up while it's off. Probably going haltech sprint or a new microtech. I will let my tuner decide haha Almost forgot some 185/60/13 toyo proxes 888. I simply cannot wait to have all this done! I took out first in class on street tyres with blown front shocks and dodgy brakes. Going to be so fast after this! Oh a half cage is on it's way soon, and I will be discussing the idea of a bolt in front section.

  9. Gotcha :) might all be moot. Just bought ke55 struts With vented discs calipers etc.. I think it is either a celica or ae86 Jdm brake upgrade! Princely sum of 65 bucks! I was holding off on the ae86 upgrade due to funds.. Or lack of.

  12. Ke20 with ke70 discs. I use it for street sprints etc.. Not wanting to mess around with an upgrade right now, just improve what I have, I have found a few options in brands and am looking for the best braking performance. Noise and dust irrelevant! Rotors dba standard solid discs or adb dimpled and slotted Pads bendix ct, ferodo racing, adb performance. If I cld buy bendix ultimates I would but from what I can see they don't make them. Any better options out there or which would you choose?

  14. someone butchered this ke25 to make a convertible.. mod plated and all.. I'm going to slowly restore it (keeping it convertible)
  15. Car is a bit sad and tired now and I am in no rush to make it 100%. Just roadworthy and reliable for now.. Plus it's about time I was the prick holdin up traffic instead of being the one trying to fly past ;)
  16. Well I picked up a very unusual soft top convertable ke25, qld mod plated. And I kinda like the idea of keeping it as close to stock as I can. Probably won't go 4age, atm anyway. Maybe a lukewarm 3/4/5k. It would rarely see highway work and only really be a cruise around town or to and from work car. The auto which I thought I would hate I actually kinda love for its quirkiness.
  17. Car is a 3k ke25 with toyoglide. Wondering how much power people have put thru them? Not looking for huge numbers, maybe 100 hp at engine. Standard bigport 4age sort of power.. Also is there any way to adapt a 4age to one?
  18. So I've decided on some ae86 coil overs, camber plates, and big brake kit from ttt. I want to run 205 50 15 semis on all four corners. Obviously some flares and minor guard trimming/rolling. Anybody know what offset I should be looking for? Or any other issues I'm going to encounter?
  19. I think u might need to drop the box, measure the clutch and put it back together.. Order clutch and now that you can drop the box and replace it in like 2hours (having done it before) u shld b able to piss it in. Or Not sure if 20v have same bolt holes on crank, as 16v?? can u just order a clutch and lightweight flywheel combo? Then u know they will fit.

  22. Ahh I see, I actually didn't understand WHY they were needed before. I've done days of research, and read plenty of forums and tech pages, and there's lots of info on how it's done.. But none explain why. Thanks I guess I will be buying more bits. ;)
  23. I have camtech 272 8.6mm cams coming, as well as performance springs. I already have adjustable cam sprockets and silvertop itb. going to be sending a spare head off for a quick port and polish and will have them assemble the head with the cams and springs.. I am trying to keep costs down and wondering if i can get away without shim under bucket mod, or if its just not worth the risk. anyone run 8.6mm or more here on standard shims?
