  1. I have searched the forums and found nothing to help. (maybe I missed). What is involved in fitting the disc brakes (front) to my ke35 coupe from my ke55 coupe? The ke35 has front drums..........is there anything preventing a straight swap? Thanks in advance for anyone's helpful advice.
  2. Thanks for the link, Redwarf.....I searched for ages and couldn't find one. CHEERS
  3. Hi guys.....long time since I visited here. I just purchased a 1979 ke55 coupe and a 1980 ke55 four door sedan. My question is: can I run these on unleaded fuel ?
  4. Need help.......welding spare wheel well into boot......where do I clamp the earth clamp to?
  5. Hopefully will be ready for Rego in few weeks time :)
  6. Thanks Grimwolge.........I still have a fair bit to do. Like putting the fuel tank back in.... New front and rear windscreen seals... Minor rust repairs... Paint touch-ups.. New tyres and RIMS........WELLLL...It doesn't sound like much, but it all adds up. Most of the hard work is done really.
  7. Here is a link to my MSN pic site. My project car as it is at the moment. Edited aug 06: trying photobucket instead.
  8. see my description in the cars for sale bit
  9. Anyone know where I can get a 2.4 diesel engine for my 1988 Toyota Hilux tray back? At a reasonable price, that is. Also.....anyone want a 1988 tray back without an engine? I'm open to offers.
  10. I just removed the front line ........and nothing pushes through it. Do you think it is worthwhile trying to repair.....or should I replace the master cylinder? I noticed you used a Pajero master cylinder......any complications in fitting that?
  11. looks good.......and for $500 sounds like a great buy. My lad is looking for a corolla and has his eye on one.......not telling me what model, but $300 and registered. (I've been told to keep my hands off of it).
  12. I have a question about brakes: I replaced the master cylinder and tried bleeding the brakes. Back brakes fine.....front brakes???....no fluid is coming from the nipples.......not even air! Do you think the master cylinder is clogged? If it is......can anyone tell me how to remove the rear piston and spring from the master cylinder? Thanks guys......I'm sure someone will know.
  13. Thanks for the welcome guys. Demuire put me onto this site (many thanks). I will try and take some pics to post here......never done it before, so no promises. The belts I have atm are pretty good.......just the drivers belt as a small ammount of fraying. Not sure if it would get by a roadworthy. the fraying does not go into the outer edge of the material....it just looks a little furry on the edge for about 4 inches. I am getting the bonnet and boot sand blasted today, so will be busy painting later this arvo. The colour of my coupe is a silver/blue. The closest match I could get is called Glacier Blue (chrysler/mitsubishi). I have painted the engine bay and valance in this coulour and am very pleased with it. This is my first attempt at restoring a car so I am far from an expert.....just very enthusiastic (my missus says obsessed). so to me...any improvement on the look of my coupe is better than what I started with. It was a neglected car that the owner had dubbed "the ugly car".
  14. Hi all........new to this forum and like what I see. I am restoring a 1974 KE35 Corolla Coupe with a 4K engine and 4 speed manual box. I still have a bit to do on it and I hope to get some tips and advice from here as I go. Anyone know where I can get new front seat belts for my pillarless coupe?
