What Shares Rim Stud Pattern + Diameter With A Ke ?
TIMMMAAAAYYY replied to Doogs's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Cordia rims fit nicely on a 35/55 and 70 -
I have found that they leak in wet weather. I had a few drops on my rear parcel shelf...........fixed by going around again with windscreen sealant. I had to replace my spare wheel well, as it was rusted out. I found that the rear side vents needed to have rubber gaskets made......also one had the inner plasic vent tube cracked. I replaced it and made gaskets for the vents. Same with the tail lights.......needed to make rubber gaskets and applied sealant to fill the gap between the tail light outer and the car body. Just waiting for rain now to see if I got it right. I have changed doors and panels from a 55 onto my 35.........no problems. If you do decide to go ahead with a project, keep me in mind.........I have heaps of spares of most body and engine/ gearbox stuff.

TIMMMAAAAYYY replied to TIMMMAAAAYYY's topic in Rollaclub Rides
It is a KE35........So I am guessing it is the original steering wheel, as I got the car from a lady who had it from new..........and she doesn't strike me as the type that ever did anything but get it serviced and tuned. Some more pics. KE35 KE35 KE35 I hope to have it on the street by the end of the month. -

My Restoration Project (1974 Ke35 Coupe)
TIMMMAAAAYYY replied to TIMMMAAAAYYY's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Thanks guys. The colour is Ford Telstar Electric Blue with a light tint. We also painted my sons Cordia with the same paint using a dark tint. There was a bit of rust in the usual places, but not bad considering it is 32years old this year. I had it all put together about 18 months ago, but wasn't happy with the colour (silver-blue, Glacier I think), so stripped it all over again and replaced the doors and front guards. I have re-covered the door trims and parcel shelves and have a brand new carpet to fit. All it needs now is a ball joint replacement and putting the screens and interior back in. -

Some pics as it is at the moment If I can work out how to do it :P -
Well I have finally sorted out which paint I will be using. I am now in the rubbing back ready to paint stage. I have also been busy reupholstering the interior I have completed the roof lining, door trims and parcel shelves.(Bugrandy suede). and picked up my plush new floor carpets yesterday. (Deep Red). I have a guy teed up to do the spray painting. He used to work at a body kit shop, so He is experienced at it (unlike me). So hopefully I will have the my project near completed by the time I finish my holidays in early Feb.

Official 2005 Bbq X-mas Cruise - 8th Of January
TIMMMAAAAYYY replied to Teddy's topic in QLD / Brisbane
If I can drag myself away from rubbing back my coupe......I should be able to make it. Will be in my ghia, as the rolla is still undergoing major reconstruction. I will cruise Hinze Dam BBQ area 'till I spot all the rollas. -
I have decided to paint my coupe myself. What sort of paint should I buy? how far back do I take the old paint? will a 2hp compressor do? or should I buy a 2.5hp?

Thanks for the reply Rolla Boy. My '74 coupe has a moulded (shaped) liner. It had no capping strip......instead it had 3 clips each side. I have removed the capping strips from my '80 coupe and I will fit them in the '74 coupe to hold the edges on my refurbished liner. The '80 coupe is now my donor car. Got busy today and removed the doors and front drivers side fender. I am replacing the front and rear screens and rubbers, so I now know to do the roof liner before putting the new glass in. Thanks again for all the help.

Please can anyone tell me how to remove the roof lining from my KE35 Coupe? I have removed all the side covers, visors, light and seat belts.........but I think there may be clips and I cannot locate them.

SORRY...........meant to post in another thread.

I'm sure I will find someone willing to do it for me. Thanks for the tips, guys........maybe I should buy the gear and try it myself.

I have been working on my ke35 coupe for around 5 years now.......and I am almost at the stage where it needs a paint job. Any budding painters out there who would like to earn a few bob? Or perhaps a recommendation from someone who has a place in mind? Anything under $1,000 will be greatly appreciated.

I will have to save some money before I get them. I will be doing it myself...........I am a sucker for punishment and skinned knuckles. I decided to work on my bonnet this weekend. strip back to bare metal then rust prime and undercoat. It is a nice bonnet.......has the 2 chrome air grills instead of just the slots.
-
Thanks for the info guys.............I will be replacing them probly on the weekend.

Hi guys. Is it possible to remove the ball joints from the eye of the tie rod ends? (1974 KE35 COUPE) Or should I just get new tie rods? I have never replaced the rubber boots on ball joints before.........so if someone knows how to do it.....Help me with some info please. Thanks in advance.... TIMMMAAAAYYY

Yes......my ke35 coupe has drums all round. If I can't find a new master cylinder, I may try to put the brakes from the ke55 onto it.
