cheers fella's. My indicators aren't flashing, they just stay on. I'm guessing its the flasher box(or whatever it's called lol) going to try and get that fixed this arvo and might be getting a resinator or another muffler put in the exhaust aswell, she's a bit too loud at the moment. And i'll be putting the 5 speed in probably next weekend. Thanks for the encouragment, Tom. -

i wouldn't have a clue what size the gun is, just a cheapy i grabbed from bunnings this morning lol. i wet rubbed it with 400 after 2 coats and then gave it one more, i think experience is the key there. i'm already intending to re-paint it in 6-12 months anyway, was just trying to neaten her up. do you reckon i could buff it up to more of a gloss? and what should i use? Cheers, Tom -

haha, nice spotting. Yeah, swapped him my parts car for a bunch of parts off his wreck. At least the panels are going to good use:) -
Hey, I bought this 2 door ke30 about a month ago for parts for my other one but when i got it home decided it was too good to strip so decided to give her a fresh coat of paint and use it as a daily. So far i've sanded all the black paint off, replaced the bonnet and bootlid(twice) and started straightening out the body, the passenger side rear quarter needed a fair bit of work, but i think i got it alright, and a bad dent just behind the drivers door, other than that it's just the usual small dents around the door handles/locks and the tops of the front quarters. It's running a warm 4k, with extractors and a 2" exhaust Suspension and brakes are stock but the front end has been fully rebuilt with nolathane bushes The body is pretty much rust free, besides the bottoms of the doors and the top of the drivers pillar but nothing major. Plans are to get her straight and painted as a daily, probably going back the original yellow. Finished!...sorta. As always plans changed, painted it red instead. I forgot to take a before photo but all around the handle and lock were rooted, i've skimmed half the door with filler to fix it. I'm more than happy to listen to any advice, i'm having a go but i'm not a pro. FINALLY got the bodywork finished today. Then got some plastic and prep'd the shed. even managed to get the primer on  going to wet rub her tonight and hopefully paint tomorrow, decided on monza red(cos it was cheap, lol)

unless you've only just finished your last beer, then you'll blow higher at the station. And yes, I am talking from experience... :glare: unfortunately

1500? f@$k THAT!!! this was for sale less than a month ago for 3800 (By memory) If i was you I'd make him hand over at least 3000 and still punch him the face. this car was overrated. Feel for ya mate, I might part with one of mine for ya (only because i feel for ya) but they owe me a fair bit so depends on how much he wants to hand over. Thats the bad thing about old cars, you can plow thousands into them but to an insurance company it's still just 'another old corolla'

can you post a pic of the damage?

Hey i'm Tom, From Reynella(Down South) i've got 79 ke55 that ive had for nearly 6 years, my dad bought it for me for my 18th from his mates grandma with 104,000 original k's. it's still only done 116,000 and is getting a full respray atm, hoping to have it back on the road for christmas. Will post pics asap. Recently i went a bit nuts and bought two more rolla's, tylerrice's red 81 ke55 coupe on page 1 of this thread with original 117,000 on the clock and a 75 ke30 2 door sedan from leorolla1975, these are both currently parked up behind my shed under car covers waiting for their paint jobs also hoping to finish the 2 door sedan by march 2011, it doesn't need much already running a 5k. I'll get to the coupe eventually too. Ive got a 96 mazda work bus and my daily is an 85 Cressida Glx-i, bit of luxury with all the goodies. Looking forward to meeting some fellow rolla nuts, and going on some cruises when the 55 hits the road. Hope to see ya soon

Hey, I've got a 4 door KE55 getting painted at the moment, it's pretty stock but i've just found a 2 door sedan with a 5K motor. the shell needs some work so i thought i'd chuck the 5K in the 4 Door for the time being. Anyway, my question is will a 4K head fit on a 5K bottom end or a 5K head on a 4K bottom end? or is there a way to make it fit, e.g. drilling out oil/water ports ect.? Might be a stupid idea but i thought the 4K head on the 5K bottom end would bump up the compression and go a bit harder and that putting the 5K head on the 4K bottom end would de-compress the motor ready for a turbo. Any advice will be appreciated. Cheers, Tom

cheers, i don't have a huge budget but i hope i have enough. do you think a 4AGZE would me a cheaper option? what brakes are you using? i'm intending to use a 5 stud hilux diff what 5 stud brake upgrade should use on the front?

The 4k is getting fairly tired, so rather than rebuild i've decided to upgrade to an SR20DET :jamie: Just wondering if anyone knows of somewhere in South Austalia (or could ship to SA) to get engine mouts and gearbox crossmembers to suit, i want it approved so they've got to be legal, no backyard jobs. Thanks for any advice, Tom.
