after driving it for a while a bolt came out the turbo flange, and now theres a massive hole in the manifold gasket and it shoots flames from there when i back it off so ill have to pull it apart again and change those gaskets. What a shit job that was last time... ah well, the joys of having a car i guess ;) oh and it was making about 80kw but now its only running at 3 or 4 pound due to the gaping hole in the gasket haha

goes fairly well, getting better the more i drive it but only running 7psi because it keeps leaning out at around 9 but I'm happy with it :) pulls hard on boost and sounds awesome haha just need to put the rest of my guages in and then start on the body work

was going alrigth but its not quite done yet, the mechanic is a lazy bastard. but when it was on there it was leaning out on 9psi so it still needs a bit of work

so its taken about 4 weeks longer than expected because the tuner is having trouble with it :( but he reckons it will be done this week so far theres been the coil, alternator and now its the fuel feed from the tank as it is too restrictive for my fuel pump and leaning out at 4psi but once thats changed it should be all go... will have an update on how it goes when i get it back...

hey, was considering dropping the 4k turbo idea and going for a little bit more power ;) want to know if anyone has put a 1jz or 2jz into a corolla before or thinks it will fit any advice or help is appreciated thanks

got it 90% back together today, will have it finished on the weekend then i just have to wait for my MSD timing control bos to come in and it will get tuned :)

yeah it was 4 spd but now its 5spd :) getting a respray in the next few months too. now for an update... took the head into the engine works place and got it cleaned up, valves reseated, all the seals done (used the original head because i knew it wasnt cracked or anything rather than wasting time on the shit looking purple one lol) i noticed the two heads were different which u will see in the pics that there is a shoulder around the valves on and the old one is flush the engine guy said it looked like a 3k head so let me know what u think ;) over all I'm pretty happy with the way it looks just need a new set of head bolts and ill put it back together and turn the key and hope for the best anyway here are the pics

locked the dizzy but didnt check the timing :hmm: where should i set it to? was set right before dizzy was locked but would locking it change the timing on idle?

yea ill give it a look when i get the chance, hopefully it is just the seal but not looking good so far

took it for a spin after gasket was changed was going much better and staying on boost and i pulled up the drive and was just idling and then white smoke started pouring out the exhaust, so it looks like head gasket but ill have a look when its cooled down :( its always one thing after another. losing my patience with this car very quickly.

Went to get it tuned today but found out the intake/ exhaust gasket has shit itself so ill be changing that this weekend and have to wait another week to get it tuned :( but dizzy is locked so ill fix the gasket and see how it goes. is there a performance gasket available for these motors? at least its getting there... slowly. haha thanks :)

I'm getting a mate that works at Sprint Auto Parts to get prices on those two on monday so hopefully he can help me out there :) would it take long to put it in myself or would it be better to get a mechanic to do it?

had a good look at the MSD website and read up on them and yea the 6AL- 2 looks like the best option, getting them both priced on monday so ill make a decision then ;)

i have a boost reference line, its plumbed into the back of the carby hat. ill have a look at the dizzy and see about locking it but if i can get a btm for a reasonable price ill get that instead thanks for the help :)

how hard is it to lock a dizzy and how would i do so?

ignition control? ive got a dual spark coil out a pintara and an electronic dizzy if thats what you mean and the timing is spot on, its booked in for next thursday to get tuned so they will sort it out either way :)

i have a Carter 18psi in line fuel pump and malpassi rising rate fuel pressure reg but no guage on it so ill have to get one of those i think

Hey guys, Just a few things about it... its done 206000k's, still got the 4K in it but its turbo :) converted to 5spd with short shifter, lowered on 13 inch splats but i have new wheels for it (still have the others but wanted a change for a while) 2 inch exhaust. not yet tuned with the turbo on it but looking good so far. it runs and drives but doesnt like boost atm coz it doesnt get enough fuel when it does so. will be tuned next thursday tho :) interior: stock but very good condition Exterior: lowered on 15ns have other wheels which u will see Engine: stock 4K T25/28 turbo (no J pipe) 2 inch exhaust, xr6 turbs front mount Fuel system: Carter 18psi in line fuel pump, malpassi rising rate pressure reg. will update when its tuned, going to run 12psi through it too

goes much better now coz its turbo'd :) did have the extractors and 2 inch exhaust on it but the motor blew up so now its got a turbo on it haha
