  1. Nistune is tried, tested and proven. Do it. Bang for buck, You can not go wrong. It's around $200 for a nisute board installed and You won't need a custom loom made to suit. I believe that He does road tuning for a reasonable $/hour rate or have it dyno tuned. I will be running a Nistune in My VL and in My CA corolla.
  2. wow that is a great write up! big help there mate, cheers!
  3. soo, about that info.. lol
  4. Cheers mate, the more info the better! Can You remember how You adapted the loom?
  5. Has anyone got any pics of AE and KE engine cross memebers side by side? I bought someone's un-finished CA/KE70 project as a roller and I can't tell the difference between the cross member in the roller compared to the one in My AE71 daily so I'm not sure if the previous owner has already put an AE cross member in.. Cheers, Locky.
  6. I just wasn't sure if the lock spacer gave it enough length to reach the S13 steering arms. I just don't really want to go out and buy longer rack ends if they are not essential but, if longer rack ends AND a lock spacer will perform better then, I will still buy longer rack ends. Cheers.
  7. I understand what a lock spacer is and where it goes. It is fitted in between the LH rack end and the rack, this makes the total length of the rack longer, which is why I asked the question. Thanks.
  8. Do You still have to fit different rack ends if You have a lock spacer?
  9. I have S13 CA18DET front brakes to go in. It looks like I will be getting a custom made tailshaft as I have a CA box..
  10. Yeah mate, I have read his thread but, it's not all that in-depth. The main things I want to know are: how to adapt the loom, if there are any "mix'n'match" tailshaft recipes lol and what is an easy radiator upgrade. I am trying to keep to an extreme low budget if possible as this isn't the only project car I have lol. I am going to keep to the factory Borgy diff for as long as possible, I will reduild it and lock the center. Then maybe when it breaks, I might be able to afford a VN disk brake diff conversion..
  11. yes, I searched all relevent sections and as stated above, there wasn't one thread that had all the information needed in one place. Which is the reason I started a "discussion" thread where every body could come to the one thread to ask questions about this specific conversion. Cheers for Your input Dave.
  12. Hi guys, I'm fairly new here. I am soon to begin a CA18DET conversion to My KE70 and every night I have been on all the toyota forums searching for hints and tips on how people have done the conversion but, I haven't found one thread that was very helpful. So I thought I would start a thread here where all the questions can be asked and hopefully only correct, helpful answers are given. I know that there are redily available fitting kits on the market and it's not the installation I am interested in.. that's the easy part! What I would like to know is: - what radiator have people used and what mods were required (if any) - how the loom was adapted - what was done for a tail shaft? custom made or bits and pieces of other shafts put together? If any other people have any questions, feel free to post them here and people, please don't post "hear say" information, only post info from first hand experience. Cheers, Locky.
  13. cheers mate, might give it a crack when I get around to tidying up / painting mine!
  14. Has anyone used quad lights from an old corona? I have a set and I'm thinking about trimming them to fit..
