  1. Ok in the early days they thought that all they had to do was stop oil running down the valve stem through the collets so they put the oring on there to stop it running down the stem and into the guide then into the engine, now the new ones are a more positive seal that seals on the stem and on the outside of the guide which gives a much better seal. Now its up to you if you put the o'rings on the top or put the later model ones on the guide, BUT remeber that the old heads don't have a groove on the guide to hold the seal ona nd if they come loose they WILL pump oil down the guide as the valve goes up and down. I run the oring style and haven't had any problems , the guides are in good nick on that head so it should be fine mate.
  2. No man thats how the holden/chev ones are. You need to put it on the top of the collest like felix said on the TOP groove.
  3. 150 how soft is that man, youll do that easy with the combo youve put together ,my head is smaller than yours and i made that easy. Youll go 160 plus. Hey how come you on the net at night all time now, aaanyway what is the time there.
  4. Thanks felix. Hey Si whats that gearbox out of again mate and did you send me a link to another bellhousing???
  5. Gee that head looks nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
  6. Hey Si tell me how much bigger is the W series box exactly mate, heaps or only a little bit. If that bloke in NZ ever gets back to me i might get a K-T. :P :D :bash: :bash:
  7. Just negotiate a price in OZ dollars then do the transfer, there will be a small fee of around $25 for the transfer.
  8. All depends what version T04 and T25 you are comparing guys.
  9. Very true and it says the same thing i said, BB turbos benefit but sleeve bearings don't in most cases.
  10. Yeah it would work but not real sure if you would gain much, i mean its not like they are real noisy flat tappet engines are they. Only thing is I'm not sure exactly what the difference in installed lifter height it is to a std toyota one so you may need to change to A12 pushrods and adjustable rocker gear anyway.
  11. Ok thanks its only a relitavely cheap gun so i guess around 35-40 PSI would be a good place to start ey.
  12. Pressure is not the issue normally if its STD engine pressure its the drain that is the issue ,not enough fall or too small diameter.
  13. Hey you sound like you know what your doing, Two questions Whats the best rust convertor??? What pressure do i run my spray gun at,its a normal type not gravity feed.??? Cheers sorry to hijack thread. Matt
  14. Tell me why they are called GT28RS Disco Potato, how does a disco and a potato get into a name of a turbo
  15. Yes you will need a MAP sensor if your ecu doesn't have one inbuilt. My wolf has one that does up to 22 PSI so i am running a 3BAR external onme soon si can run more boost. So the best way to run it is TPS/MAP due to the unstable idle signal from big camshaft. BY the way what is ftw!!
  16. HEHE man that intercooler will support about 8PSI, so piss that off those injectors are good for 12PSI and WTF is a disco potato i keep hearing about. I run 7M injectors they flow 300cc ,now i will be running GZE very soon once i fit my 3Bar MAP and retune. Just remember that you must run a HKS turbo to make any power now.!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. The GTR T28 will do just fine mate, youll see. How much boost you wanting to run anyhow.
  18. Oh ok your going t28, good boy. the clearance looks similar but i think you may have a little more than me, my T25 hybrid has a slightly smaller compressor cover BUT a suitably larger comp wheel so i get a bit more clearance than if i had a t28 comp cover./
  19. Argh that'l fit easy Si, my 10's got heaps less room than your thing.HAve a look at how i did mine that might help????. What flange is that turbo
  20. Yeah i thought of that but its only a small cam i think, Pay to check that cam as felix has said.
  21. If its disk drum maybe
  22. How does the rocker geometry look cam.
  23. Just remember that there is rocker geaometry to take into account here its not just a matter of getting the correct tappet clearance.
  24. Hence WHY i use holden/chev lifters and there is no issue with using A12 pushrods, my 5KT is currently running this exact setup. ;) :bash: :no2: :sob:
