Bit of an update: in the process of deleting the back windows. I brought some 1mm sheet metal and I'm cutting it to size and welding them in. looking really good so far :D just have a couple of rivets holding the sheets in temporarily until a friend can do some nice clean welds for me. No pics as of yet :( Also redoing the headliner atm and going to be making new interior panels for the rear section. while all this is going on Ive started sanding the body and removing the side mouldings, then the dint removing/filling will start hopefully next week! I should really take more pics, but I'm abit lazy with this sorta stuff. Don't want to loose any momentum haha! Edit: also brought some new tailgate struts and for the front doors i have new bailey channel rubbers and weatherstrips to install once the paint is done :)

Sr20 Conversion To Ke55 Plus Rebuild Plus Pimpage
e70van replied to JDM55's topic in Engine Conversions
nice build up man, didn't realize you had one on the site! will be a nice ride with the sr20 in there ;) Have you looked at getting arp flywheel bolts? they are cheaper than factory bolts and re-usable.if a few of the old bolts look abit iffy it will pay to replace them. Don't want the flywheel coming off :P these guys sell ARP bolts. http://www.vpw.com.au/productgroup.asp?CatID=0&SubCatID=0&priorCatID=0&PrdGrpID=2615 this thread will explain what part number you need: :) http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=415326 -
ke70dave: Haha don't worry dave, it took me ages to write my reply too! We basically wrote the same things for q1 and 2 :) I'm just researching this stuff myself atm, so when i saw this thread i had to reply. best (cheapest)to go to a self serve wrecker to find your struts. you will need the hubs, brakes etc too because your 36' stuff wont fit on the xt struts.
-
1. when pedders list the strut, I'm almost certain that is not the actual strut body, stub axle, etc. it is only the cartridge insert. you need to either hunt the forums or search at wreckers to buy the complete struts. 2. the hsd sleeve kit needs to be welded onto your xt130 struts. you will need to grind off the old spring perch and cut some of the length off, then have the sleeve kit welded on. search youtube for more info as i remember seeing a tutorial video on there. (guy in usa working on ae86 struts) This will explain it to you better. xt130,ae86,ra60 etc struts are 51mm, so get that sleeve kit. pretty certain 36's are smaller, like the ke70s. (46mm maybe?) Coilover springs will be heaps better than using your ke36 or xt spring perch. if your lowering your car you will be able to have captive springs. (i.e "more" legal) You will also have a good selection of spring rates and you can adjust your ride height to basically whatever you feel! 3.those camber tops will let you adjust your camber definitely. you will have to drill the strut top pcd in them and press in the studs to suit.by looking at them you most likely will have to cut the top plate to size so it fits your 36. (they looks pretty huge) The camber tops are an extra 299 on top of the 299 for the sleeve kit to btw. I'm looking to order a sleeve kit this week from grant. heard only good things about them :)

I love these earlier vans, they look so overrated! good ideas you have planned so far, i'd do the same :D
-
^ wow. i couldnt give away sedan taillights 12mths ago ;)
-
Yeah my victorian rego sticker says "panel van" too :blinks: so its classified as a commerical vehicle which i think can work to my advantage in regards to modifications! (i have to double check though,i might be lying :rolls: ) nice. they look wicked. i have a t series ra60 celica diff in my car (is about 10-15mm total wider) i can't believe you have 9" rims on 195/45s under there! have you pulled the guards out much? my guard lips are hammered flat and i rub with 7.5" -4mm and 175/65s :bash:
-
slant bumpers bolt up to the chassis rails but they stick out about 1m.lol. it looks retarded, so make sure you only get a flat front bar, or t18 chrome bar etc.. a place i would suggest is Combined Auto Salvage in Cooper st Somerton :rolls:
-
love the rear rims :rolls: what are the measurements?? "delivery van" hahaha i like it!
-
sick! was hoping the person who brought this would be on this site. i wanna see this thing built up :bash: check my build thread on my pvan. hoping to go 4agte soon :rolls:
-
last week at centre rd it was empty :rolls: no e70s. there is a joint in dandenong but ive never been. self serve wreckers or forums would be the places to look.
-
mate, its more about the spring rate (stiffness/kg rating) that you want to be looking at, not so much the brand.. For drifting you need some stiff springs. in the back 4 to 5kg/mm and fronts around 7-8kg/mm is roughly what most drifters get.
-
+1 i reckon its the circlip. it popped out on my t50 once going through an intersection and i couldnt get any gears! haha. lift the covers and under the little rubber boot you should see the circlip. all you need is a 10mm socket to get the 1st cover off.

^ good stuff man :hmm:
-
On a bigport ecu from memory its the thin gauge red wire. i to wouldn't mind know how to do this. is the wire a negative trigger or positive?
-
Never been. what sort of stuff do they have there?is it people selling old car parts? anything for corollas?
-
^ got my xt130 complete struts (brakes, LCA's etc) for 60bucks the pair. didnt see any xt130 at centre rd wreckers today though. Also no E7#'s at centre rd atm :jamie: but the two old ke55 2doors and a 4 door ke30?/55? (i can't tell the difference) are there. plenty of ae82 etc, (no 4ages from what i could see). pretty disappointed with my wreckers run today :blinks:
-
hey buddy, would by any chance your car been in templestowe (SE suburbs) on saturday night just gone?? there can't be too many ke20s getting around in this colour I'm guessing!?
-
saw a blue 4door ke30/55? on westall rd around 5pm tonight. red p's. the colour was similar to the falcon blueprint blue.
-
Ohh yeah, it shut awhile ago now. maybe 2mths :y: was devastated. it was my local and the girl there gave me stuff so cheap ;) Then i discovered Centre rd :P Now that's where it's at! :P
-
Was the blue ke70 wagon gone?? Because it had mud flaps. i was going to grab them to cover my rear tyres abit :P I can't recall if they had "toyota" or "corolla" printed on them, they were in good nick though, that's why i was considering getting them.
-
Didn't know you had a thread up mate. looking good. is that your property with the outdoor hoist??! if so, so jealous! Should have asked me for a drive if you wanted :P I had to leave early from the cruise though, had my bball game at 3.30 :P if you still need the parker lenses let me know. re. the dash, they are pretty easy to come across at the local self serves. easy to change also, but if your worried about a rwc, buy a dash mat for it :y: you will have no issues at all then.
-
i read someone using a sigma gsr boot spoiler? hit up your local self serve wrecker and take a tape measure with you :P find one that will fit and post pics when your done :P
