  1. Well I might suss that out with him when I get home from work next week. I'm not really to worried about keeping it legal as I work out of town, so it won't get driven that much but I obviously just definetely need the engine engineered so i get can get registration sticker! I'll be sure to do a members ride article in the next few weeks mate. Probably not next week because I'll be coming off nightshift and I probably won't be over that until I am ready to go back to work the following week, lol.
  2. That is correct. Pretty sure minitubs can't even be approved? If someone knows otherwise, say so! Regardless of wether or not I am honest with the Engineer, if minitubs can't be approved then I'll obviously just end up with a car that cannot be registered. I know it would be cheaper to just put all the good gear in, in the first place but I'm pretty sure that these rear end modifications (mostly the minitubs) can't be engineered so I was prepared to fork out on brakes for the diff that is already in the car.
  3. Thanks for your response mate. The reason I don't want to put in the other diff for the time being is it's been shortened (900mm long, axle face to axle face) and it'll be put in with rear Spax adjustable coilovers, minitubbed to fit with quite wide wheels as you could imagine. I'm worried that the Engineer won't approve the engine conversion which is all I'm really worried about once he realises the extensive mods to the rear end setup. Therefore, I was just going to use a simple brake upgrade on the back, aswell as the R31 front brakes upgrade so the car can be engineered for the engine conversion and registered, and then pull the car off the road to do the rest of the modifications afterward.
  4. Gday, First of all I am sorry if there is already a topic for this, but every search I do only seems to turn up results in relation to KE20 Front Brakes/ Struts/ Coilover conversions, etc. If there is such a topic, could you please point me in the right direction. I am looking for a cheap, easy brake conversion to do on a KE20 with a stock diff. It's only to be a temporary thing to have the car engineered (has a 4AGZE) and then registered, before I put the Borg Warner I have in it. A requirement to have the car engineered is the brakes being upgraded. I've been researching and intending on doing the R31 strut/ coilover and brake conversion in the front end but I just need something temporary for the rear end! If anyone has any information on easy, cheap-ish conversions they have used, I would greatly appreciate if you posted your knowledge! I intend on doing a technical conversion article when the time is appropriate.
