  1. hey ive come across a toyota 5R engine as fair as i no its a 2 litre and came out off a toyota dyna. and anything else anyone knows will be greatly appreciated. I'm mainly just wounding if anyone noes of them being converted into early corolla's and what sort of gearboxs bolt up an also if it is a worthwhile conversion? Thanks, Corey
  2. Yeh sounds good an the idea just come up cause i got offered one cheap so thought id see if anyone new
  3. Hey am thinking of gettin a 82 celica but the front is ugly and i then started thinkin of how it reminds me of a sprinter. So to the point has anyone ever swapped a front over maybe with an ae82 corolla ?? or herd of somethin similar
  4. have you thought about taking out the lca's and cutting them and welding some box tube in the gap there fore extending the lca? just remember everythin is designed to work together so by changing one thing you are effecting others.
  5. basic for drifting before you try to get into any competing is a ridgid ride (tough suspension) good hand brake and big power but honestly get in your stock corolla find some good dirt trakes out bush and flog the hell out of it until you understand the car and can control it its all practice and once you think your good enough then power it up something crazy but there is no point trying to drift a high powered car if you can't even control a stock rolla
  6. ok fair enough thanks heaps for the help :)
  7. why will this be more complicated?? is it not a straight bolt up, do you have to change the bell housing? thanks
  8. thanks what would be the best box to put behind a rwd 4age
  9. just had abit of a read in the FAQ/wiki section but didnt help me to much so i was just wondering in the old hiaces with the 3y engine, do the gearboxs bolt up to the k or a blocks if so is it worth it as i am guessing they'd be geared different beening a van thanks, corey
  10. yeh old greg is a good fella haha i have the workshop manual. but it doesnt mention the 5 speed unfortunatly. anyway thanks all for the help muchly appreciated and just to let you no the trusty four speed is back in and i found bits of metal just hangin out in my 5 speed :S who invited them...
  11. new problem i filled it up but it went straigh through and is coming out from a rubber grommet thing at the front of the bottom of the box in the plate you unbolt at the bottom to change the filter or whatever
  12. very nice. what carbys are you using ?
  13. yeah i recon it is the rear seal as it was oily and it looks like the oil has sprayed around underneat via the tail shaft and i no it is empty as i had it jacked up and removed the speedo gear and no oil came out might be time to put the good old 4 speed back in
  14. sorry I'm not sure i just got the box out of another rolla (ke55) and its behind a 4k how do i tell what it is
  15. i have already tried it just came off and the rest of my spanners are at my lazy mates house he borrowed them but still hasnt used them so i havnt got them back yet haha
  16. Hi Was drivin home in my ke30, from trade school and the box got real noisy anyway got home and checked it turns out i have no oil :S So i went to fill it up but the dolt in the side to fill it is completly striped on the out side i tryed vice grips monkey wrench hammer and a screw driver and baching a smaller ring spanner on now of which helped me :( So i m goin to fill it by removing the selector which leads me to my question how much oil do i put in as the filler whole wont simply over flow?? its a T50 (am pretty sure as it is a five speed) thanks Corey.
  17. hi all i have a ke30 and am starting to collect bits and pieces to make it go abit better :) but i don't want to just go drop a big engine in and hoon around i want handling and good brakes most of all. so far i have a big port 4age, t50, corona front struts and brakes as the calipers, disks and shocks are bigger. so i am just wondering what diffs will just bolt in that are strong and have disc brakes, besides the sprinter as the ones i have found are expensive. thanks, Corey
  18. hey Well i have got a 76 corolla fairly ruff but minimal rust :) I am planing on doing an engine conversion to a 4age. I have 82 corona strurts and brakes for the front as they are bigger. A 4age out of a ae82 corolla seca arriving soon (very excited) And a t50. So thats the plan so far.. mean while i have a 1982 corona with a 1x engine about to be scraped and i notice that the bell-housing for the 4 speed is seperate to the gearbox itself, so i was just wondering if it is worth saving, will it bolt up to a 4age and what other boxs would suit it? Thanks Corey
  19. thanks heaps for your help.

  22. hey. i no its not corolla but i am having some serious troubles with the cam timing on my girlfriends n13 pulsar it has an 18le engine, and i do not no where to start, all i m lookin to do is set it to stock so i runs again? All help greatly appreciated and don't worry i do have corollas. a ke30 ke55 and ke70 :) thanks Corey
  23. hey man neat rolla ive seen it around town before

  24. hey first i would like to say neat ride  i noticed the work you had done to the engine just wondering if all the internals are stock like cams, pistons, conrods lso the compression ratio? I'm also mildly new to some of the lingo and was wondering what you mean by 'rib' like 3 rib and 7 rib thanks, corey
