but electric conversions will be cool. i've been thinking of converting my '04 hilux to electric motor, only need to have 150km range at the most as its only a work truck. plenty of room under the tray for batteries etc, as well as a fairly big engine bay + already has W series gearbox and obviously a hilux diff to cope with the torque.

$8 a litre in 10 years isn't really a problem coz we will all be earning a lot more in 10 years too.

what ECU are you using? should make decent power on 12psi, any plans for a dyno run?

when i was teaching a mate to drive, i found it worked well starting off in 2nd gear when on a slight downhill.

200kph speedo nice. i need one of those - mine tops out at 160 and it gets there fairly quickly these days. -
i've now got series6 rx7 seats in the ke20. you just need some angle line and a bit of steel plate. these seats are the $hit! suede, buckety and small enough to not look ridiculous in a ke20.

recaros (at least two different models i've had before) will use your stock ke20 seat rails (with some slight modifications, no welding)

adding the turbo cost me another $400, so all up it was $1400 for my setup. the engineer's certificate includes everything though: engine gearbox custom tailshaft seats steering wheel clutch master cylinder brake master cylinder bigger wheels intercooler turbo removal of rear seats and probably more, i'll have to check.

i'm not sure about the SA rules, but i'm sure it would be fine. chances are you could put an even bigger motor such as a 3SGTE or perhaps a 1JZGTE too.

if you are on a budget now but want to do an engine conversion later, i'd suggest selling it (before you spend any money on pod filters & extractors and other waste of money items) and buying either an SX or AE71 corolla instead.

yep, its a smallport, and that is the knock sensor. i use a haltech e6x - no knock sensor input. so the oil is blowing up in the wind after seeping from between the block and the head?

i've got oil on the bolts on my inlet manifold. i've no idea where it is coming from any ideas? here is a pic. its dry above the bolts. i've taken the bolts out and the threads are dry.
