    My Ke20

Was this the one that was for sale west of Brisbane early this year? The interior looks great, all round tidy cruiser Is there anything done to it other than the lowering??
  3. My rig was on the back of a tow truck today. I'll do my best to get her running for the day!
  4. Hey lads, was at the jdmst meet on Monday night, seen a few members up there, but was unable to meet any of you. Keen to see alot more of you on AJD! On another note I've got a few idea's going around in my head for this long weekend in regards to the rear end suspension and guards. so many pictures will be taken and progress noted for befit! Finally a few pictures from this week, And no the rims are not for sale for the record :no2:
  5. I did Evan with my old setup, I've now got 75mm bump steer reducers under the front, it completely changed how the car held speed through the hill and dropped all front end gear down to a normal level so that there is no clearance issues with the front sway bar. I can grab some pics for reference if you'd like to look into it further? Do you have/ had this problem? EDIT: Got a pic there for you Cheers buddy I really appreciate that, Its awesome to see more people warming the the old shape. I have always regarded the ke30/55's as the in-between shape for the corolla's hence why it may be overlooked as a nice looking car. But at the end of the day it is a corolla, That's why we love them
  6. Little update, swung some s13 ca seats into today, just bolted up the standard rails to them. verry impressed with the outcome! Also Added a pic from a little while ago, i know you guys love pics rather than words.
  7. Can vouch for the ae86 coily setup, and shorties in the rear, you don't even need a tze 5k to shread the bogans. Just huge balls with the brake pedal :fuzz: Looking forward to the lowering antics!
  8. GRIP GRIP GRIP
  9. How is the progress with the tires jake?
  10. Any progress on this beast over the weekend?
  11. If a ke26's does not have the length, try a ke70's, i have been recommended this a multitude of times.
  12. With the above pictures that produces 2.3 degrees. And if you are going to lower your car, Get a wheel alinement after you have done it!
  13. Well i have the camber tops approximatively 2/3 of the way to full negative camber and I'm running 2.3 degrees at the front wheels. More than enough if your after that 'look' without compromising with uneven tire wear. The stock struts would have very little camber without lca or camber top mods. Track is the same in my instance, I could not imagine that changing more than 5mm with a strut swap. Hubs are what will change the track and the 86's have the same or very similar offset to the ke55 stock hubs. Exactly! they bolt straight into your original components apart from the re-drill of the one hole in the strut tower. Large washers Would be advisable as the bolts are not as thick as the 55's on the camber top. Alternatively a strut brace would sure everything up. I've been running this now for around 2500km's and have found no negative effects, apart from 8kg springs being hard as hell. Ill Get some photo's now and chuck them up for you as reference.
  14. I was referring to fj40 - fj80 series cruisers in re regards to clearance in the steering components with larger tire and rim combo's. Lets keep the 12 year old comments in your threads shall we.
  15. I'm pretty sure 33's foul on cruiser steering gear anything remotely to lock, Inner front of the front guards are a problem depending on the profile of the tire run and the body lift. If you had a patrol on the other hand this should work out no worries even with a 15x9 and 33's. Pajero's also have issues clearing some aspects of larger rims and tires. My assumption on the first post was a corolla (didn't even bother to look at the tire size after i seen rim dimensions) after all this is a corolla forum....... not 4x4adventure.
  16. What car are you planning on sticking these rims on? what ride height are you planning on running with the rims? most importantly what offset are you running with the rims? Will Guard flaring be an option for you? This is a pretty frigin broad question, more clarity and we could give you a better answer
  17. See if you can pick up some ae86 coilovers, then swap over the camber/top hats to ke55 paturn. I'm currently running the bc ae86 kit up front, i modded the strut top so that the 86's camber tops could fit. Also have the 80mm bump steer spacers to drop the steering components to some what of a regular position for the ride height. I'm running 90mm off the cross-member. I still have 41mm of adjustment on the coil overs to low out. But If i go any lower it is way to impractical for daily duties. May be what your just after.... Alternatively you could just get new short stroke inserts for your current struts and wack a heavier spring in it. I Have also done this but your travel is very limited and lacks that extra bit of something. Peders sell a shock that fits into a brumby that slips into a ke55 strut with a spacer for around $120ea You will have people refer to the fact that coilovers are a waste of money. IMO if your going that low you will need them if your going to pulled up by the 5.0 (for raising when pits is required ) :fuzz: Hope this helps
  18. Just buy a ke70, ae70 or something nissan. Ke30/55's do not have the suspension geometry to make a good drift car. even if you poor the $$$ into it it will still be a 35+ year old car that was in no way intended to drift. Also If you drift, accept the fact you will crash. A ke30 will not save you from much more than a 50km/h impact from side. If you after something to drift on your p's go get a nissan, and let someone take that ke30 off your hands to restore. Ke70's are mostly ugly and rusty. please crash a few of those.
  19. The front's are on in the pic, rears are in sydney atm so give me a week or two. More pics when i can get a camera handy.
  20. Loving the new rims, saying goodbye to the old ones.
  21. I'm also keen for details if anyone has done this conversion, price, cost and availability. Are they also avaliable in the ke5x square light form? I've been told autobarn can order them in? yes, it will bring more attention from the 5.0 but thats my choice.
  22. Jesse Streeter man, his a top bloke with really competitive rates. On another note, no more 20v.... I'm still going forward with it but not at this time. i really want to get the bodywork up to scratch and get all my running gear to a good level to pop the engine in. stay tuned
  23. 16x8 +-0 will not fit unless guard work is done. 16x7 +35 Should fit fine, Front may be an issue as the strut tower may foul on the tire, a 10mm spacer should fix it if so. Either way you go a very small profile tire should be used as it will reduce scrub within the inner guards. Why are you after 16's? would 14's or even 15's be an option?
  24. Nice and tidy dude, love it. Where did you score those rims? they look alot like my old ones.....
  25. Yusss! thats pimp, have you got many plans regarding the looks of the car? or are you just going to daily it?
