  1. Had a few dreamers recon they were going to come and get it, never turned up. I mean it was an awesome deal for 1600! But I'm glad i got it running again, driving my golf was sending me nuts!
  2. Will be at the next rolla club hills run :D Such a small problem that i overlooked, but she is back! Happiest man out today.
  3. I had the same problem, With camber this issue will never go away, Also if you have lowered your car the geometry of the front end will have moved out. toe out is what you have and can be fixed with a wheel aliment from any tyre shop. $50 and it reduce the problem to a bearable rate of wear
  4. 14x7 0 offset sits slightly out on standard guards, guard work may be needed depending on tire choice
  5. It's looking tops dude! really puts the pressure on me to keep mine :rolls:
  6. What happened to the updates man? keen to see how this is going!
  7. Back after one, have cash ready!
  8. There is no way 14 x 8 -0 offset will fit under the rear without major mods. currently on the 55 it has 14x8 +15 and this almost the limit with the guard work i have done. 14x8 +10 will be the go but don't go too low or you will have issues with scrub inner and outer guard. All the above calculations are working off a 195 60 tire on the 8's. lowering the profile will give you a little more room to move, but not much at all. I have the rims off my car atm so if you down on the gold coast any time soon, feel free to come test fit them for you reference mason

As the mods will tell you, go to an engineer, get them to look over your plans, if they intend to approve it get them to write it up on paper so you have something to fall back on. No one can tell you if it legal unless they are a DOT approved engineer. Best of luck with the conversion if you go ahead with it.

Spotted a mustard ke36 or 38 haven't gotten a good look at it yet in the arundle / parkwood area on the GC, red p plater drives her like it's stolen. looks well maintained. Seen many times since picture was taken
  12. Just take it to a shop mate, all of their fab work will be covered by some kind of warranty and they will do it once, and do it right. I'm not doubting your fabrication skills, just for the little expense they charge it will give you peace of mind. Best of luck with it!
  13. Lucy has gone to a good home :( , But will return sometime in the future
  14. At the end of the day dude it's your car and no one can make up your mind for you! Just please don't spray the new car balck Something you may enjoy too:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sparkle-Garage/201059096587662 ps. I'm in love with another car, It's not even toyota :blinks:
  15. Are they the correct bulbs? the double filament ones I know it's probably not, but it may be something that has been overlooked
  16. I'm in. Also banners 3mx1m are around the $300-$350 to get made up. Have looked into it before for another club. Not to bad if a few members chip in.....
  17. yeah i think i'll just slowly work on it, Have a look this weekend, see what damage I'm looking at and go from there. I could send it to you, but would i ever get it back? :lolcry: Edit: yes and i knew you would be pleased with the news of not parting out.
  18. It did splutter and stall many times. my theory (5k) is that the rings in cylinder 4 were shot, the fuel pump was buggerd but still managed to get small amounts of fuel to the carby. because of the engine running lean the car felt as if it was dropping the 4th cylinder because compression was not up. the fuel presure was not high so the throtle could only be used lightly before the car would lean out and stall. We put the 4k in and the same thing happened but the engine was not missing, the only parts i used off the 5k were the dizzy and the fuel pump, so i knew it had to be one of those issues. after smelling the oil i then found the problem with the fuel system leaking into the block. Fixed all the parts (fuel pump, lines, filter, points, leads, serviced her and away she went. after all that stress and inconvenience I'm just glad to be on the road again
  19. Call most wreckers on the coast and south brisbane, everything they had was either damaged by this years floods or has sold. 20v was sold a while ago, couldn't justify losing my licence (and my job) for an engine conversion on my p's. I've looked into reco'ing the 5k, been quoted $2000 and $1800 buy local shops, really not happy with that but I'm still looking around for a shop that is a little cheaper
  20. Very nice indeed, love the plans for it!
  21. MFW! the rolla is back. after many problems i have a 4k in and running. The reason why the 5k blew up was because the fuel pump. The rear seal had gone and it was not pumping fuel through to the carby, instead it was pumped straight into the block from the rear of the pump. causing the engine to fill with fuel and end up exploding oil all through the bay. :bash:
  22. Hey guys, been chasing a 7k at the local wreckers can't source anything worth while. So if you know of one for sale right now, or in a wrecking yard tweed to Brisbane swing me a pm or message on 0413195668. cash hand ready to go. Cheers Hayden
  23. Turns out the 4th cylinder was rooted, either piston or ring. it had no compression and misfired, filled with fuel and oil then shot up through the rocket cover breather on to the bonnet spraying into the fan then everywhere. Going to my local wreckers tomorrow to source a 5k or 7k, depending on price. Hopefully have one in by Wednesday This arvo's work consisted of disconnecting the engine, ready to be lifted out tomorrow.
  24. It does just, runs rough like it's dropped a cylinder, fair amount of blue-ish smoke on start up. it will not idle and revs are not consistent. I'll will clean it up and give it a go finding the leaks after i chill out :bash:
  25. I'm unsure where any of it has come from, as i just got the shits and parked the car. From what i can see there was some a spray point from the front of the engine that hit the fan and went everywhere. there is also a major leak somewhere nere the carby that shot straight up and covered the inside of the bonnet. Yesterday i got it towed home due to "bad fuel" diagnosed by the RACQ dude, clearly i have many more issues than that. Not sure if it's a replace the engine job or just a bolt on fix. I'll keep the updates rolling once i get the problem sused out
