  1. Wheels on the way from jap land! SSR Star sharks, 14 7j -2 SSR C type mesh 14 8j +14 Plans are to restore them and run some nice wide tires. :D So current wheels will be up for sale in the recent future.
  2. yeah brothers hardtop was found burnt, had a ke70 found yesterday, but had been taken for a joy ride, fair damage done :(
  3. 'Engine conversion' and 'cheap' do not appear in the same sentence often My suggestion is to work you handling aspects, feel out your setup and get comfortable with it, then and only then fork out the dosh for the power upgrade. But at the end of the day it's your car and you should build it how you want.
  4. Run a thick oil, should elongate the life of the poor engine. are you planning anything for the conversion? eg. brakes, suspension, body stiffness? More power is cool, but you wan't to be on the safe side if you need to stop in a hurry or worse have an impact. what engine package are you planning?
  5. I'm also running a 4k carbie on my 5k, have not had a problem with it and i can't fault it. In the processes of getting my 40mm solex's re jetted to suit as soon as that happens i'll whack them on and give you a verdict.
  6. Hey guys, Recently there has been a huge influx of corolla's getting stolen on the gold coast. I personalty know of 5 in the last month and a half, two have been flogged this week >| 2 x ke70's - Both spotted early this week. 2 x Ae71's - Both have no trace. 1 x ke55 coupe - Found burnt. All have been stolen in the hours of the night. Me thinks this is not just a coincidence! So keep a keen eye out for your rig, and do what you have to to secure it at night! working ATM the get details on cars. Cheers dudes
  7. May get a couple of GC guys together and get up there!
  8. Wheels too wide (out of guards), rust in rear quarter, battery clamp and no headrests, could have been don for alot more but the cop was a pretty cool dude.
  9. Defected :bash: It's just a fine, so no inspections. very lucky they didn't pick up on the engine number. It was an overdue check i needed, First things first is to rectify the defects and fix the niggily problems. Stay Tunned!
  10. Not too sure what the consumption is like, haven't really even worried about it haha. love the racks man! 5k is now in and running sweet, it was defiantly worth the trouble :D

  15. I feel like a gimp, even worse i work in electronics..... just not cars. so how do i wire it in so that it will not short? cheers guys
  16. Ill try and get some pics tomorrow, i gave up at 2pm just got frustrated as shit, only thing i noticed is the the coil was getting really hot! will try and nut it out tomorrow and ill update on how i go
  17. It's points, there is no spark when we turn the engine over from the coil to earth, is there anything wrong with my wiring? ive already checked for continuity on all wires, i got another coil from my running rolla and wired straight in and had the same problem, it's just got me :(
  18. Hey lads, I've come across a problem whilst trying to start the 5k externally. i have the block earthed and the starter motor large wire (positive) on the positive battery terminal. coil is wired directly onto the battery with positive and negative (with balin resistor). I'm using the small wire on the starter to turn it over by touching it on the positive terminal. My problem is that i have no spark, ive swapped multiple coils and have the same problem, i have also swapped the leads. Any idea's where I'm going wrong???? Cheers Hayden
  19. loving the rims mate! and the car..... such and improvement well done. what tyres did you end up running on the rims? also did you have any clearance issues?
  20. It's all bolted up to a crossmember in the garage, ready to be started this weekend. pretty excited!
  21. They are marked CSA WIA 14 7jj on the rim, other than that i would not have a clue sorry
  22. Hey dudes, found a nice little pick with the racks off. also just giving a shout out to the gold coast members, There have been a few ke's stolen over the past few weeks, very low act. keep your babies under a close eye!
  23. I'll be there, sporting a little more flare :fuzz:
  24. Loved the turn out guys! i would also like to join in saying there was a little bit of dis-organisation on our part before the show, great to meet a few people when there tho. To june for a bigger and better turn out!
  25. Bar the rims, i do not believe any parts will 'bolt on' without some form of modification. The brakes would be of interest if you could manufacture a mounting bracket. I stand to be corrected if anyone knows otherwise
