  1. looking awesome as man. That thing'll be the tits once its all done!! one question, whereabouts did you get the seats from? I'm looking for a good proper seat for my suzuki GTi, but like you can't justify spending 1k+ for a seat. I mean, thats the same as buying new cams!!!!
  2. I'm definetley up for it, Ill be there!! Not in the rolla unfortunately. Instead you can all listen to the sound of my GTi as it hits the limiter!!! Great road up to kinglake (or kingnolake as I call it) especially on the way down  make sure youve plenty of brake pad material!!
  3. As mentioned in the other topic posted, my 4K's done quite a few K's. Should I rebuild it? how much (approx obviously) would this cost me to have done by a professional? would it be easier to purchase one that has already been rebuilt, and swap em over? thanks again..
  4. Hi guys. my KE70 has done 360,000ks. I'm unsure whether or not its had a rebuld in its time.. its pretty noisy, lots of tappet noise from the head, it still runs ok though, and dosent blow smoke. also the 5 speed gearbox ( I understand that theyre fairly rare?) dosent shift too smoothly.. I'm assuming its the original g/box the car came with, as its badged as a 5 speed. what oils and lubricants would you recommend me use? Any particular grade/brand that outperforms when it comes to this make and model of car? I understand this topic has probably been covered a bajillion times, but in my defence, I searched but couldnt find any definitive answers!! cheers guys
  5. Ill get some better pics tomorrow or over the weekend. crappy phone pics are just that, crappy...
  6. Sup everyone. just picked up my second car today, a KE70. No RWC, no reg, off a good friend of mine. he originally bought it for his daughter to learn on, but never got the time to get everything done, so it got sold to me!! car is in great condition. there is NO rust at all. My first car was a 1600 datsun, so I know what rust looks like!! ive been over every inch of the bodywork on this thing, no rust whatsoever. it has a few dings, dents and scrapes, but nothing bad. I'm over the moon with the bodywork. the ol 4k has done 360,000 or so now, so its pretty rattly. when me an my brother were just mucking around with it an hour or so ago we discovered an intermitten starting issue. as is, it wont start ;) and nothing would convince it to. maybe because I tried sliding it a bit on dirt... anyhoo. apparently all it needs for RWC is steering rack ends, new front brake hoses, new pads and new axle bushes. My current ''project'' is a 92 suzuki swift GTi, which i spend all my pay packet on, so this car will pretty much just be my daily driver. First of all i just want it rego'd. after that I'll look at a new carby, rebuild/replace the 4k (which dyou think would be cheaper?) then do all the typical JDM mods. kings superlow springs, dished 15's with stretched rubber, fender mirrors and quad front lights. and a nice audio system. Oh, and boso style pipes :D oh, and a woodgrain steering wheel!! as I said, just a nice daily. i have the swift for racing/touge/embaressing fords and holdens. this will be a comfy car to drive to work! pics.. thanks guys, all comments well received :)
  7. Ok then. I was specifically looking at either an ae82 corolla gti (not the liftback seca, the hatchback, or an ae92/93 sx/gti. 1100 kgs??!! Damn thats heavy!! My swift only weighs 780, and ive taken a faor bit off too... Although the power to weight ratio would be similar. And i kinda like the way fwd handles. Its a bit wore predictable. Ive owned a ke55 rolla and a datsun1600, and like the way my fwd swift handles in comparison. What should i be expecting to pay for one of these? And do the 4ag engines have fairly long lifespan?
  8. Hi everyone. I'm new, just joined now. I own a suzuki swift gti, but I'm looking to get rid of it within the next coupole of months and purchase another vehicle. i really do enjoy small hot hatches though, so i was thinking about an ae82/ae92 corolla sx (or gti, as long as it has the 4AGE engine) i don't know much about these cars, i was just hoping you guys could tell me some stuff, common problems, tare weight of the vehicles, the power levels i should expect, handling, just general information. id really appreciate it everyone, thanks josh
