  1. Yeah will be using coilovers just wasnt able to find any strut tops, cheers for the link. Had a hunch the r31 would be the way to go, the car is more for street/track not so much for 1/4 mile so r31 would be plenty, just gotta source one and get it made up. Sounds like my type of trimmer, someone that will actually take the time to get it right :y:
  2. Sweet as thats just along from work. Will check it out tomorrow. Haha gotta get as much done before the Mrs gets back from holiday and finds all my spare change gone, and alot of shiny new bits on the rolla Yeah should be good to see some other guys set ups and see how well they work. Would be overrated to get the beast to a track day. I thought my old 489HP Evo was nuts around a track, but the power to weight plus being rwd in the rolla will be legendary!!!
  3. Hey all, May as well start at the beginning. I am a fully qualified Mechanic. I have recently moved to Mill Park (just near Bundoora). I have a 1976 Ke30 4 door with a CA18DET including Transmission and custom driveshaft. Up front are some RA60 struts, hubs, rotors and calipers which will soon have new bearings, shortened strut inserts with coilovers, machined standard rotors and green stuff pads. My first issue is the Positive Camber. Is there any adjustable LCAs or Camber hats for the ke30? As I have nearly finished the front end I am now looking towards the rear with the diff, I have read through the forums and have worked out I need either a Hilux diff with LSD or an R31 diff with fairmont LSD. Problem 2, Hilux stud pattern is different? strength of Fairmont LSD? cost(budget of $1500-2000)? sourcing parts? and an engineer to build it? After this I want to have the whole shell sand/soda blasted, which also means removing and refitting front windscreen and rear window. Number 3, Anyone know of someone to sand or soda blast around Mill Park? and also someone capable of fitting a Windscreen and rear window tidy? Then I will prep and paint the car myself, after which I will need to get the seats, door trims and dash upholstered. Then Exhaust, Tune and mod plate. Which brings to number 4, anybody know of a good upholsterer? Exhaust shop? Tuning shop? and someone to mod this nasty piece of Metal? P.S hope the Rollaclub scene is good down this way cause this beast is gunna be out to every event once its done running, I don't think it will ever be done, always room for improvement  Cheers all for any Info Richard
  4. Yeah gotta get my arse into gear tho cause I'm suposed to move to melbourne in Feb :P Abit to get done but at least all the hard work is done. Have a question regarding battery mounting if anyone knows, Am I legally allowed to mount the battery in the passengers foot area? I know it was legal in NZ aslong as it was mounted in a sealed battery box and bolted to the floorpan?
  5. This is my ke30 which has taken me around 4 months so far of buggering around. 6. M****r F****rs at queensland transport said they had no information about it and that I had to ring another number!! Lazy good for nothing .... Oh well now that I have information on what I can "legally" do thinks its time to start spending some coin to get me some bits.
  7. I live in Toowoomba, Qld. Ive asked about and havent really had a definate answer, its just ring this guy and ring this department and then this isnt the department that deals with that ring this department who sends me back to the first department :abuse: what do government services do here!!!!!
  8. Hey all I'm currently building a road legal weapon, I have a ke30 with a ca18det and 5 speed, about to start doing the xt130 struts and ln106 caliper conversion just wondering if I do the coilovers aswell are they road legal? I come from New Zealand where almost all is legal :abuse: so thought I better find out Before I do them.
  9. Cheers that link is a huge help for the front brakes, and it looks like a solid set up for the front. Not sure about the diff set up tho? sounds like a good srong set up but probly alittle to much for my weekend warrior. Any other ideas on a good diff/ rear brake set up?
  10. Hi all, just been searching around your site to try and find information about putting a ca18det into my ke30. I have found that I can put the engine and box in with out to many issues i was just after some information on upgrading the brakes, chosing a good diff set up and any worthwhile suspension set ups. This is a 9 month project to get it on the road and legal so some simple good combinations for a good road/weekend warrior set up. I was looking at corona front discs with ln107 hilux 4 pot calipers on the front but not sure about the rear. People keep telling me to put a shortened hilux diff in the rear but I can't seem to find any for a reasonable price and then I would still need to have it shortened. I also want the same stud patterns front and rear. P.s I live in toowoomba so if there is anyone around this area that has some ideas on where to get parts etc it would be a huge help.
