  1. Definitely when i'm doing my exhaust system. That's a great idea! Cheers SLO-030.
  2. Ohh that's sweet, if ever you get over the sound just switch it haha. Nice .
  3. ewt: I want to fix the rust a little bit better haha so i don't have to keep fixing it. Not to sure about the sun visor i've seen it on 26's and i'm not sure if i like it. And i have some 13inch steelies with the lips for hubcaps. They'd are about 6 1/2 inch wide so they'd look pretty neat with caps on em. SLO-030: Yeah that would look and sound tough. Just need to find a 5K first
  4. Looks nice mate. I'm looking at building up a 5K aswell. Will be watching this thread to see how the engine build goes. I'm also interested in how much acid dipping is. Cheers Jordan.
  5. Yeah 1.75 is probably what i will go (whenever that is i get my hands on a 5k :glare: ) Haha thats the way, why not use what will eventually be scrap :y:
  6. That's sweet. I reckon anything you put in your own time and learn through it you'll appreciate way more once it's done. The reward at the end will be the best. Haha unknown cam, could be tricky. I guess you'll find out in due time how it all goes. Lets hope you get torque  2" exhaust? What's the back pressure like.... Cheers man :laff:
  7. Well i try do it in photoshop but it doesn't decrease the MB size. Yeah well theres one in Adelaide atm which is fully apart, which I'm going to have a look at next week. But i don't think everythings there ie. a few missing bolts etc. Yeah fair enough, i'm not a complete mechanic noob but my Dad knows a bit and got mates also. I'm looking to find this 'yellow book/manual' actually.
  8. Yeah i never seen them driving around..... ever. Yeah i got a bit over my 30 haha needed a change. Hows that going? I'm looking really hard to find one in pieces or together. I really just want to learn to build an engine myself (minus machining etc obviously). That would be sweet dude  Ps. I have a mac so no paint on here haha. I guess heres another chance to add another one :laff: (SORRY MODS)
  9. Can't figure out how to reduce the size of my images....
  10. Hey there, My names Jordan. I've been meaning to this on here for a while now. This is my second corolla (i have to stop being addicted). I bought it off a guy locally about 6 or more months ago. I got lucky as i wasn't looking for long till i found the Ke26 i wanted :). It has a 4K atm but am looking to upgrade to a mildly worked 5K  Has a 5 speed box which i find very handy. Jap diff. Things i have done: Satin black RA40 Celica rims running 195/60 R14 tyres all round. Engine change from 3K to 4K (my first engine change). Rust repairs, however i have not fully finished and am unsatisfied with my job. So i will be restarting and maybe practice welding so i can cut out and replace rust infected areas. Removed old boards from boot of car and replace with 3mm and vinyl. Also installed 6x9's in the rear. Lowered rear 2 1/4 inch. And lowered front slightly. That's about it atm. I NEED some motivation at the minute haha. Things i need to do: Buy some decent tools, looking a Blue point atm. Muck around with getting some 13x7 deep dish steelies. I currently have 4 4x114.3 steelies which i may get redrilled to suit 4 x 110. (not sure yet) Find a 5k which i can rebuild myself. Or a complete running 5k for a good price. Undecided. Paint over rust repairs. Get a few new bit's like front kick panels, front garnishes etc. Replace diff or diff centre. WHITEWALLS? SUNVISOR? That's about it. Check out the photos :) Cheers Jordan.
  11. Shit just got real :blinks:
  12. ^^ :sob: :sob: haha You're the only clown here mate.
  13. Spotted a red KE10 at Dandenong Lunar Drive ins to see Fast 5 tonight. Anyone from here?? Was in nice condition running on stockies.
  14. I am not a mechanic/ nor do i work on my car or use tools everyday. I'm 19 and i'm going to be buying a Blue Point 100pc set including sockets and ratchets. It may be expensive now but i figure id rather get quality now and it will last me a lifetime than bothering with lesser quality just to save a dime now. And when you know you're buying quality tools, you WILL respect them and make sure you don't loose anything etc. I've had a Supatool tool chest for about 3-4 years now, and lets face it there a joke haha and i've lost that many sockets and spanners over the years as it's just untidy and nothing fits. My mate at work also swears by snap on and he has rarely ever had a fault, i think once with a torx head driver which he got replaced, obviously, through warranty NO questions asked. My 2 and half cents.
  15. No modificatipns neccessary. Pull out 3K label every linkage you disconnect if you feel you arent comfortable with remembering where everything goes. And 4K sits right in. I found the first time i did a conversion was that it is better to take out the gearbox with the engine, is often a pain to line up gearbox and engine while gearbox is still in car. Just a tip. Cheers Jordan.
  16. Does anyone know if the KE20 in Clayton has the diff still? If so will it fit a KE26. My diffs wrecked. Cheers
  17. Had a look under car jacked it up. Put it into first got my mate to look for play he reckons theres about 2cm of play from the driveshaft to diff. Drained the oil and found traces of metal resting on top of plug. So am now on hunt for a new diff.
  18. Will check these out tomorrow hopefully if i finish Uni on time. I remember when i first got the wagon there being a little play in the driveshaft unis. And although i don't know much about this kind of stuff. I'm thinking when there isn't any tension/force from the driveshaft to the diff the gears aren't connecting. Therefore the clunking of gears.... Anyways i'll have a fiddle tomorrow i hope i can figure it out and it's not to big of a job because frankly i can't handle not having a car. Cheers for the help TOJO :)
  19. Hey guys, Problem. I leant my KE26 to my mum for the night, she drove it not too far at all. She experienced a problem. I came and drove it back home. From start off i can get into first gear then second then third etc (K50). However in between the gears I experience a major crunching of something, it feels like some gears aren't connecting and feels as if i'm dragging about a tonne of metal along the ground. And when i'm in 4th if i drop below a certain rev limit it starts again. It's fine above a certain speed or rpm then it clunks and jumps around like all hell. :bash: :bash: :bash: As it was dark and was in a car park i couldn't see much, it looked as if drops of oil were coming from the diff pretty constantly. I find it hard to believe it's the gearbox as i can get into all the gears no problem. Need some advice on what to look for. Cheers. Ps, it's a Jap diff if anyone was going to ask.
  20. Yeah mate i looked into this too. I got quoted i think $250 for 2inch front lowered king springs. Off the suspension guy in the sponsor section on this site. Cheers
  21. Going to take the easy way out :bash:
  22. I've tried costless bolts and Csw products, both don't have 8inch long u-bolts with a 65mm distance between the rods. Haha nearly giving up. Can pay $105 for a set off that guy on here, may aswell do that. So i guess i'll only go 50mm then. dammit haha.
  23. Yeah i was thinking of doing that. I have a mate who works in that type of business anyways. I just didn't know about the spring locators so i didn't want to go through with it. Do i need anything other than that? If all i need is the blocks and u-bolts to suit however low i go, then i'll just do that.
  24. In Melbourne....
  25. Hey guys, Does anyone have any clue where i can get lowering blocks for a ke26 (JAP DIFF) in MELBOURNE? I'm after about 2-2 1/2 inch. I've looked over the internet and can't find any. Tried Bursons as i thought they would have some , however they didn't. Cheers Jordy
