  1. Alright thanks for that info. The only reason i was asking, is because i have a 4K head which has had work done to to it. And i know it's a really good head, so i was pretty keen to use that. However i will have the 5K head with Hydro Lifters. New pistons with a flat top (if they are even available) i would consider buying? Wow, thanks for the info altezzaclub. So to my understanding that's a 9.5:1 compression ratio. That doesn't seem too bad...... But then again i don't know much about that kind of stuff. What do you suggest i do? Run the 5K head and get better compression.. Or just run the 4K head and have that compression? Cheers!!
  2. Hey guys/girls Just a quick, and possibly stupid question. Can I run a 4K head on a 5K block, using a 4K cam? If i understand correctly, i will have low compression due to the dished pistons of a 5K. So literally there is no point at all? Cheers.
  3. Yeah i know, i jsut want something a bit different. They are just really difficult to find wider in 4 x 110's. They are around though. Thanks mate.
  4. Did you get the rear steels widened? Or what are they haha.
  5. How wide are the fronts and the rears? Haha maybe not then, i saw a Sprinter there once, was probably not you, but i was in a light blue KE26. Was probably someone else haha. Hey Ke11restorer. I need a bit wider though, i couldn't be bothered/afford to get any steels widened on my working one job- uni wage haha. Thanks anyways.
  6. I love this mate. Great pictures. Great trasnformation. Best ride i've seen on this forum. If you ever want to seel your wheels, i'm definitely keen. I need a little bit wider, and these would be perfect. I lvie in Melbourne, and actually may have seen you driving at Eastland carpark once. Cheers mate.
  7. Hahahahaha. Awesome.
  8. Thanks mate, that was the info i was after. Cheers for that.
  9. Hey guys/girls Just wondering whether any of you know the size of the caps which fit onto the KE20 stockies. Going to buy some caps brand new, and was just wondering. Cheers.
  10. Hows this thing coming along mate?
  11. Oh what a nissan feeling has offered to grab the gear out of his K50 for me. Big shout to him! Cheers.
  12. For Borg Warner diffs the diff center unbolts from the back with probably about 8 or more bolts. Jap diffs unbolt from the front with about 8 bolts.
  13. Had a whine in my diff that had gone on for about 6 months. Didn't get any better or any worse through that time, but caused alot of drag. I'd say just find a diff, which is pretty easy and take it to a specialist just for them to look over it if you don't really know what you're looking for (which could be a problem within the internals of the diff) And yeah i agree all rolla diffs seem to have a bit of a whine. Actually i should post a picture of what my diff had done. The pinion was rubbing back and forth onto the the housing of the spider gears. So much metal found haha.
  14. Big careful because if you've done/spun a big end bearing that lobe on the crank will never be same, and if it's out by anything at all you'll always get a knock. Exact same thing happened to me. What i've learnt is better to do it right, than have to worry about it later, as that's a pain in the arse. 1. Secret access? Should just be 2 i think...? 2. Much easier to remove from pedal then attack at the gearbox. They are a pain in the arse eitehr way. I've always had trouble with mine. Cheers mate, hope all goes sweet.
  15. This meet just gets better and better every year i go. Weather held up which was also great. Good to see some rollas out in force, shame i couldn't bring mine.
  16. Had the same problem with mine mate. A while ago. I had spun a big end bearing which created a fairly heavy knocking noise like the one you suggest. And if you don't get too it soon it will chew out the crank like it did in mine. I don't think it would be your timing chain, mine rattles at the moment, but only for about a second and then goes away. Tapetts wouldn't wouldn't really make a knock. A video will make it easier to identify :)
  17. It was kind of urgent, and no one ever seems to read the wtb section. I don't think it's much of an issue, and if it is, it can be moved. (i can't multiqoute, someone teach me) Anyways thanks for the info bruce. Ke70dave and Jono.C , yeah it is a killer, and i guess yeah the cost is also most labour. Pretty happy with $450 and that guarantess a very strong box for a number of years, as i don't really thrash it. oh what a nissan feeling.... PM sent.
  18. My old man kind of sorted it out. But we got a good deal through a bit of mates rates. Ended up being $450, which is bloody good, the bearings do cop moist the blow. So it generally should be all good. I don't think this slight chip shoudl make much a difference considering it's not under extreme load anyways.
  19. Hey guys/girls I've had my K50 gearbox getting reconditioned, anyways they have run into a bit of trouble, he 5th gear has a chip out of one of the tooths. I'm just wondering if anyone has a 5spd in pieces and wants to part with the 5th gear. Even if anyone has a shot K50 gearbox that they want to sell, as all i need is the gear. I can put this gear back in but it will have a noise and i'm not really keen on that. Would be great if anyone could help. Cheers
  20. It's rad, so you should get it. Theres no profile or anything, just upload your pictures. Come on all i really want to see is pictures of cars. Help a brother out and download it haha.
  21. Haha you're kidding, didn't i just explain it..? App on iPhones, where you upload pictures. It's practically a photo editing platform.
  22. Sweet, done.
  23. Hey everyone/anyone Any of you have Instagram out there? Wouldn't mind some sweet corolla people on there, as i definitely am not seeing enough car related photos. If you don't have it or don't know what it is, it's an Application on iPhones. Get it, it's free. And you can source a lot of nice pictures, even of some good corollas haha. Cheers. Ps. My username is ' jordykaye '
  24. Borg Warner diffs have visible bolts surrounding and holding a plate of some sort to the back of the diff housing (maybe search on google if uou don't know what i mean). So check from the rear of fhe car. Jap diffs are just all one unit, and you will onlysee the oil plug/bolt. And if I'm also correct a japanese diff centre from say a ke30 will fit into the diff centre of yours, if its jap. Hope that helps. And could someone confirm. Cheers
  25. http://www.bmsc.com.au/forums/attachments/buy-sell-rally-cars/11141d1320546614-fs-datsun-toyota-mitsubishi-cheviot_14x6.jpg There not those, if that's what you were thinking, unless there are other cheviots, i wouldnt have a clue.
