UPDATE: Started work on the engine bay finally. GOt it all primered, looks awesome in the greythat it is. I'll be painting the crossmember and all the stuff flat black tomorrow. i reckon it will come up neat. Let me know what you think. The engine bay. Barrry and Murray All wrapped up.

So my KE26 wont make it for this Sunday. Sad times. But fresh 5K and fresh K50 ready to go in.

Alright, this is back up again. Really struggling with what i want to do with this 5K. The engine builder told me the head (my second hand one) is too soft to use. But i think it would be alright, as he is an engine builder and i guess he'd like to start building an engine on a good platform. I reckon it could be used for the application i want it for. I just want a stock 5K really. Are there rebuild kits out there, which include everything? As i can get the machining and whatnot done with the builder then just put everything together myself. What are your thoughts on building an engine by yourself. Cheeeerss.

Yeah that's what i was thinking. I'll probably go a blueish block to match the body colour and polished head and rocker cover. Any photos of suggestions for engine colours, feel free to post :)

Nah it's not really, it's basically just for me and my mates haha. But like if it's looking nice i'd pop the hood. Maybe at Winterfest. Yeah that seems like a good idea. The engine is out. Starting to get the engine bay ready for a respray. Any tips for pre paint prep?

Nah not going 4K head. Screw solid lifters. Nah not going to supercharge, will cost too much. I think a relatively stock 5K with extractors and a side draught will be heaps good enough for me. Plus i have another car to spending my money on!!

Scrap all this shit, i'm spending the money and buying a brand new head.

Thanks GJM85, I know that. Just wondering if the vans came with the smaller chamber or the larger. I guess they'd all be different. It's just the one i can get is a fair drive and i have to pull it all off. I guess i'll just go for a drive and do it, if i can't be certain.

Smaller or larger? I have the D dished psitons. So would it suit?

Quick question... Did the vans that came with the 5K's run a particular head? Like the shallow top or the deep dish? Cheers.
