  1. Here we go. Hopefully...... HOPEFULLY, i will have it running by tomorrow arvo. I need a dipstick, and i can't find mine :S I think white extractors look good. need these spacers..... Someone help.
  2. Haha i will mate, tomorrow.
  3. Yeah it's a sweet look. I'll do it one day. My mate has his white lowlight Kombi like it and it's overrated i love it. WIth mine it's going to be pristine. I just heard from the body shop, the body work will be done by tomorrow. And they're spraying it in base coat clear coat which is good, because it's shitty acrylic at the moment. I'll have it back by next week. This is happening a lot faster than i expected.
  4. I LOVE this old school beaten up look. It's definitely my favourite.
  5. Rather not put any filler into this one, it always sounds a looks easy to just pop out, but it never is. It will be for the company doing it though, they'll heat it up and pop it out nicely, they better do the perfect job.
  6. Sooooo... the engine is in, along with the gearbox, and tailshaft. I put 2 litres of oil in the recond gearbox and it still needs more, god dammit. So need to get some more oil for that. I'm running crappy gulf western oil for the engines first run and just a generic oil filter for the first week. Then to change to ryco filter and good engine oil. I bought a new water pump today, and connected that, along with fan and belt. Painted my extractors. They look AWESOME. I'm stoked with them. I need to get the spacer/washer between my redline inlet manifold and the dellorto side draught, where do i get them, mine are buggered. Need to tighten the dizzy qand connect a few wires, then barry is ready to go.
  7. Awesome, thanks mate. I'll just get it all in then.
  8. Hey, I have a single side draught Dellorto 40mm which i want to get tuned and whatnot. I was told by someone theres a place in oakleigh or something. Can anyone recommend anyone good for me. Thanks. It's being run on a practically fully rebuilt 5K which is stock spec besides extractors. Cheers.
  9. Hey, So i have a 5K now. I've had a 3K initially in my wagon. Now i'm wondering if the dizzy off my 3K will work on the 5K...? I want to get my engine going by Friday. Cheers.
  10. Done man. In my signature.
  11. When i first saw it. I took off the front fenders and front grille. Front grille. Crap load of parts, new rubber kits and all original interior bits. Original bench seat. Californian plates are overrated. Engine. Brand new american oak tray. Dented roof.
  12. Hey, I'm 20 and this is my 1955 Ford F100 (deluxe) arrived from the states yesterday after a long 2 months or more wait. This car is amazing. The guy we bought it off has been SLOWLY restoring it for 15 years in his shed in California. The chassis is immaculate, the body is too to match and the brand new 9" diff, suspension tray. Mustang front end suspension which is adjustable, aswell as in the rear. Mustang 302ci 5L V8, at the moment is EFI, but of course i want be keeping that piece of crap and either put a huge 4 barrel carby, or twin carby. I will decide at a later date obviously. I also need to install extractors etc, and the engine just needs a general clean up. I was stoked when i found brand new oil in it though... Impressive. I can't stress enough how straight it is, and how i'm 100% sure it has no rust whatsoever. The most rust I've seen has been in a few of the bolts. I'm not 100% sure on everything as i'm just an amateur at these really. I still have a general idea and mechanical knowledge to get through this project. I have so much more to say but can't be bothered putting it here right now. Besides the fact that the company that unloaded it from the container damaged the roof, and it's bad. But it's getting fixed and should be ready for paint in a week or two. I'm respraying the whole car, in most likely light blue. I have plans but i will discuss later.
  13. i'm keen on a pair of these, one for each side. Let me know when they are available. thanks mate.
  14. Sooooo, my 1955 F100 rocked up yesterday. Kind of stopped me from putting the engine in Barry. Here it is. It's immaculate besides the damage from travel. WILL get the engine in Barry today.
  15. Bolted everything up to the engine today with a help from a mate. Things i didnt get done... Bolting up water pump, bolting fuel pump, carby, inlet, extractors. I need to put the dizzy in. But i don't know how to do it properly. I just set the first piston to tdc, then set the point to the first cylinder so it distributes spark there obviously. (well thats how i think you do it. But i imagine it's more difficult than that. Help would be awesome. Cheers.
  16. Yeah i think i figure it out. I'll run a 3K/4K one on my 5K, as if i put the 5K pump on, i would need to change the fan and everything becsause they are made for a van obviously. I think it should be fine. I'll take the one that fits to the 5K and make sure the bolt holes line up and eveyrthing. I'll take the
  17. Hey, I'm almost certain there's a difference between the 3K and 5K water pumps... Are there any differences? Cheers
  18. thanks man, i'm going to get it done tomorrow. I'll let you know how they go.
  19. That would be good as dude. There is some stuff at bur sons which is $20, seemed good, and it had the colour i want. Which is a surprise haha. Yeah with my single i had to cut out a bit of the cover that fits over the air filter because it hits the strut tower. I have another weird question. Engine mounts, same on a 4K for a 5K. And can you buy brand new ones? (highly unlikely i'd imagine) Cheers.
  20. Yeah i have a single side draught Dellorto, i might need bolts, because it is very very tight. I'll see how much studs are and things. Awesome, where did you get the paint from and how much was it? Cheers everyone.
  21. Thanks everyone, currently trying to source some studs off user 'troyota', i'll see how i go with price and whatnot. Nice thread dude. I really like your extractors. How'd you paint them? And do you think the paint will last? yeah i Pm'd him thanks mate. had
  22. Hey, I've got a fully rebuilt 5K. I'm in the process of bolting on all the accesories. Now, i need to know whether to use bolts or studs with nuts to hold the Inlet and exhaust manifolds on. What do you guys like to do with yours? And what do you think is best? Cheers
  23. Need advice.. Whats better for inlet or exhaust..... Studs with nuts .......or just bolts mo studs I'd personally feel better with using studs and bolts. UPDATE: Picked up some stuff today. - rocker cover gasket - spark plugs - oils - paint for extractors (surprise for colour to come) Parts coming are thermostat housing, new water pump, new leads! Getting there, should be running by next tuesday as thats when i get my cast off and can drive again. Yeeahhh buddy. And a new wheel colour is coming also! Peace out.
  24. Yeah flat top 5K. Can't wait for it to be in and running haha.
  25. Engine time... Need to get new bits, - Thermostat Housing - Water Pump - Spark Plugs + leads - Rocker cover gasket - Inlet/exhaust gasket - Exhaust/Inlet studs and bolts -Spakr plug seals HOPEFULLY running by next week
