I feel exactly the same as this! I was just un insured when some ʞ©$ɟ in a piece of shit 90's commodore rear ended me in my '26 and deemed i was at fault. I told i'd be able to fix all the damage (a few scratches and a broken headlight) for about 200-$300. Ended up costing a mechanic around $1800. I was furious and argued with the insurance company via letters for a good 4-6 months, which was good because i delayed the time i had to pay. Now i'm paying it off. But it's $10 a week and i never really notice it come out. Shit happens, and, well, it's shit hey?!

Does it have to be from a ke2X to suit my ke26 instrument cluster? Cheers

Hey guys, So ive got a recently rebuilt k50. I need a speedo cable, does it have to be k50 specific or will a k40 one do? I need either of one, as i don't have one at the moment. Cheers.

Alright, i called up Bearing Wholesalers. Theres two different ones, to fit two different shafts. Ones got a 38mm diameter (he sais is more comon) and one has a 33mm diamater which is two and a half times the price haha. So i'll hopefully get the gearbox out and jsut measure it up and then it should be easy from there. Cheers.

Thanks for that info. Sounds easy enough, and they're easy to put in, i've never really dealt with gearboxes. Yeah well i put the box in ages ago, and i was rushing, and haven't started or driven in it since. And theres no pressure in the clutch pedal, so that's definitely it. Cheers mate!

Hey guys, So i've put in my K50 gearbox a few months ago, and it feels as if i forgot to put in the thrust bearing, i can't find it neither. I'm yet to take the gearbox out. But when i do, what is the deal with the thrust bearing? Does it need to be a particular size for the clutch and flywheel? Because i'm actually not sure which flywheel i have on or clutch. The K50 is going on to a 5K. So where do i get one? And is it easy to install? Cheers

Shit, i haven't done work on him in ages! Need to just put the thrust bearing in the gearbox (it's already in the car hahahaha i suck, i forgot) But it will be ready before December 18. I lost my licence until then!

Yeah :) It's going to look sweet. More updates to come. This project should be moving very fast for now. Want to get it ready before new years!!

Update on this. Chosen and painted a colour. It's Banner Blue (1955 original Ford colour). Hope you like it. Keep in mind once it's all together it will look ten times as good.

I swear i saw them somewhere haha, i'll have to hunt around. Thanks. KE26, but yeah not much. Yeha i don't think i even did that actually. Cheers. Ps. ill just rub back a bit of the pain with sand paper to get it grounded properly.

Because i unplugged everything when i painted the engine bay, i've kind of forgotten where everything goes, i'm going off memory. I don't reckon i have power to the coil no. First chance i'll get to look at it will be tomorrow night or saturday morning. I'll check the power to coil, and then the points.

Got it sorted, i replaced the pump with another one i had off my 3K. Worked first time! So it's getting fuel and eveyrthing now. SO was just a faulty pump! Now just to find why it isn't sparking.
-
Must be a faulty fuel pump, not even sucking from a bottle of fuel with no fuel filter even attached. Should i try my other 3K fuel pump???
-
Yeah i thought so, i just blocked off the return line. Yeah fuel filter is on the right way, haven't touched it since taking out previous engine. Ahh i see, well i definitely didn't see any fuel trickle out. We turned it over for probably a minute or so, fully cranked. With jumper leads on my mates car as the battery ran flat. Alright thanks for all the info. Hopefully i can get it pumping tomorrow. Cheers.
-
That's what i was planning on doing tomorrow, (i didn't get enough time tonight haha) SO i'll try that first thing tomorrow. I'm hoping the pumps fine, as it should work on a 5K. Hopiung for the best, because i just want this thing driving. Yeah i have the plastice spacer, between the block and the pump. Cheers, i'll update tomorrow. (if theres anymore ideas, feel free to add anyone, thanks.)
-
Nah no signs of fuel, weird as. We kind of tried that, but i'll try dipping it down lower tomorrow.

Alright, so i got my 5K engine ready for starting today. It's rebuilt fully. I have bolted up the 4K fuel pump which i previously ran on the $K i had... It worked fine. I'm wondering if that because it's a 4K one it won't work on my 5K...... It was sucking, but didn't seem like much, and there was no fuel in the fuel filter. WHAT may be the problem do you think? Thanks. PS. there is fuel, and I'm not going to lie, i have dropped something in the tank as a piece broke off my fuel cap once.... However it shouldn't be blocking as it had run fine previously.
-
That's awesome thanks mate!! That's a lot of stress of my head now haha. It's brand new, so i'll put in the 3.6 litres. Cheers for that.
-
Ps, are they different to 3K or 4K dipsticks...?? If not, i'm sweet.
-
I'm planning on getting my 5K engine started tomorrow. I can't find my dipstick, so i'm on the lookout for one (ANYONE??) Now the question is.... Can i start my engine if i plug it up super tight? Or is that stupid? Cheers
-
thanks mate i will do.
-
haha no chance dude :P Cheers. Ill get him up and about tomorrow hopefully.
