Haven't seen it done. I was planning on doing it in my ke36. But with the cost of the 6 speed gearbox and not knowing if they'll hold the power I'm after I decided not to. But still have the engine invade I want to put it into another corolla later on :)

Gotta paint the underside of that bay I reckon. Car looks awesome though man good work

Who here thinks I should get my money back from my cousin and do the rust and respray myself? Something I've always wanted to do myself.

Not classed as n/a once you run nos through it...

I know there is shiploads more then turbosmart. Just trying to sway you to internal :)
-
Can do a screamer of an internal gate also :) The only advantage I see of external gate is being able to change the spring to control boost pressure yourself. Can quite easily get an internal gate happy to 30+psi. I'm trying to stay internal gate on the vl. But starting to prove difficult as have finally made a final decision on the turbo. Going to use a gt4094r. And they are all external. Older 4088's housing's would fit though and can be found in internal. But finding one the size I want with split pulse rear and internal would be a major pain lol. And where did you find a 35mm to by the way? Or was it a misprint and ment to say 38mm? A turbosmart gate is about $800 remember that when your thinking of going external :)

If it's sometime in 07 or newer it'll have the 6 speed. Be it the auto or the manual. The 6 speed auto is an amazing gearbox. Gotta watch the exhaust manifold bolts I have found. Same as e series manifolds. Not the bolts into the head. But the exhaust manifolds are two peice and I have found the 3 bolts that join the front half to the back half tend to come loose, and also the 2 that join the manifold to the down pipe. Had all 5 of them come loose on my dad's old ba. Not sure if they ended of changing the manifold for the mkII though however? Another thing if you look in the owners manual the dedicated LPG cars may have slightly less power, but they are also listed with more torque :) If I could afford to I'd get a ba xr ute when I get my license back for work. Just realized 07 and newer would be bf mkII. My bad. Maybe it was mid 05 or something that they all had 6 speeds? In the xr models that is? I would personally get an auto. Try for a 6 speed one. The 5 speed manual's feel shit to drive. My personal thought of a bf mkII I test drove my vl was nicer to drive gear changing wise. The 6 speed manual's feel good to though. Oh and I used to work at a ford dealership. Another common problem I think was only on the earlier ba mkI's was the seatbelts used to always stop retracting but was only a need of a clean to fix.

Sr20 Conversion To Ke55 Plus Rebuild Plus Pimpage
LXY-642 replied to JDM55's topic in Engine Conversions
We shall have to go for a cruise sometime when both our cars are finished I reckon :) -
The only price difference would be in the initial purchase of the engine and gearbox that you want to use. As both setup's will require everything else to be changed. But withthe 4age if you look on trademe engine mounts to suit ke30-55 4age get sold on there. But the 4age will require things like inlet exhaust and more to be changed to suit rwd instead of fwd. Whereas the sr20 you'd just purchase a rwd one straight up. I think people tend to say about 5 grand minimum ontop of buying the engine and gearbox if you want to get it all done and engineered. Matt

Why spend more getting an external setup on a turbo that works perfectly well with an internal setup?
-
Lower the better :) I'll be asking my engineer the minimum clearance for sump to crossmember and then trying to get it to that. Thinking about 10mm would be good :)

Hey 7four7. If you have seen darren's ke10 on ct that was running a j pipe over to the other side of the engine bay. I'll find the link for ya. http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.p...;highlight=Ke10

Most people just throw a 3" on any turbo car. I had a 2.5" with a 1.06 reared gt3582r and about 220rwkw in my vl. People are running 380rwkw with a 3" still. Remember his trying to claim it is a 1.2 litre also
-
Just heard from the guy about everything it comes with. Here's what he said. Motor comes with alternator, starter motor, wiring loom, ecu, exhaust manifold, engine mount brackets only no engine mounts as they have been sold,no power steering pump or resivoir pretty much what you see in photo
-
Any updates man?
-
I did say it's only a thought ATM. A 3076 will flow the power I'm after but only just. So if for whatever reason I want more power I'd then have to change the turbo. I also remember you saying you wanted a t04z for only 300hp which a t28 would flow easily lol. And it'll get what it needs. All in due time. For now I just want the car resprayed so I can get the motor in, running and engineered :(

Sr20 Conversion To Ke55 Plus Rebuild Plus Pimpage
LXY-642 replied to JDM55's topic in Engine Conversions
coming along nicely man :( new engine mount's look good. and that fuel tank looks pretty sexy i must admit :D -
no going back now, engine is purchased along with the gearbox. thinking along the lines of a high mounted 35/40 with 0.63 rear to help bring it onto boost, full 3" exhaust, don't think it'll need a 3.5" for the 2 litre, thinking of using my wolf 3d v4 on this simply because it already has an sr20 plug and sr20 tune. these are only thought's atm to. only just decided on the sr20, was down to it or a 12a and really wanted a 12a but could not justify the pricing. so have gone the sr20 and staying with the sr20, will be working out more what turbo i will want to run over however long till i buy it. but 100% high mount lol and don't know about being done before yours lol, my cousin hasn't even started stripping the paint yet let alone repairing the rust, for the bare metal respray. Matt

have just purchased an sr20 and auto for this beast, some will be happy i have gone with the sr, while other's won't be. but it'll do what i want at a decent cost :( hoping i m not going to need a flame suit? lol.
-
600cc injectors. Faring out. Maybe I should go get some 800cc if I want a boosted 5k :(. One thing though prob would of made more power if the exhaust was a 2.5". 3" is just to big for a k motor I reckon.
-
I spotted xf tb and individual coil packs :D
-
Only one way to find out. Take it to a drag track and race it

12.7 in a ke30 with a 3k. Well I hope I can do better then that with a bigger engine lol. I'll be happy just to even get my 4ktc powered ke36 to a drag day and not break anything to start with lol.

Yeah I'm going to find out if I can get two small tanks under the car or something. Don't really want to take up room in the back of the wagon.
