pricey? the missus broke the front skirt on a driveway that she didnt have enough angle on and now shes all against lowering it! I'm like noooooo! It has to be lowred if your putting bigger wheels on! ;) BTW nice rims :D What stud pattern measurement is our rollas? 4x ...??
-
nice pics :D What suspension is that?

PM sent karl :)

Yeah when i had the mesh in you could barely see the cooler. I took it out so you can properly see it, and people look it a think 'What the....?' LOL Karl, The guy she bought it off bought it from toyota brand new when he worked for them. All servicing was carried out buy toyota and then BMW coz he shifted to to them. Both of those nipples you are talking about have plugs on them with what looks to be the standard squeeze clamps. AS for the pedals, they look like normal corolla pedals, black rubber etc. Has yours got stainless pedels!!!!??? Where does your vacuum line rn to now then? Same place? I'll let ya know about the HKS bov. I'll take it off and see what the go is inside it. Still works perfect, as you heard on the video.
-
we are a trio :no2: I don't mind the ssq bov but I'm going to be getting a gfb mach 1 for the subie. There's a piece of metal which i thik is the secondary valve inside my hks bov that has broken. Was going to pull it apart to see if it could be welded back together. Bov still works fine. Just vents a lot longer than it should. When i get my mach 1 you can have my hks one if you want karl. Its limited edition black :P On that note. Where does the vacuum line from your bov run too? I pulled all the original airbox out last weekend and saw no signs of a standard bov being on our rolla. I would have thought there would be a vacuum line plugged up sitting there somewhere....

Heres a video of the Subie :)
-
ahh yes, but you have cars that we want lol! So its all even :)

Update on the rolla! New CAI that I made up yesterday, with some interstate help from karllos  SOunds much the same as my last setup, just a little quieter. The missus didnt like the mass suction noise that the turbo was putting out. Now its just a nice whistle when it comes on boost. Have to get a driving video at some stage. .....and heres the video!
-
hmm tat doesnt sound right, for a brand new clutch to be on the way out already! Thats not good at all! Pitty you didnt get a mechanics to fit, then you could take it back and say, "hey! whats going on hear!" ;) I got quoted when i got the 2.5" cat back on, that the section between cat and dump pipe would cost around the 180 mark to be upsized to 2.5" as well. This section has the O2 sensor in it. I'll get that replaced at some stage and then it will be a full 2.5" turbo back system.... That will do for the missus!
-
yeah i think we'll just leave the cars engine stuff alone now :bash: don't want the missus complaining of manifold cracks lol. No boosting.... just leave it now. Lowered and rims will be the final. I've had enough with tuning and spending money on cars lol! Just got the subie tuned tonight. Was leaning out under slight acceleration and causing a surge. Its fixed now hopefully. I'll see what its like on cold start tomorrow morning..... (surging got worse as the weather got cooler) Still manages to pump out 192kw at all fours

the boost control solonoid is on the firewall in the middle, thats where i tee'd in my gauge. Theres nothing on the actuator, just a vacuum line to the compressor. On previous dyno runs, what have you made?
-
yeah that would be good, give it a bit when you want to and quickly change back to stock when cruising. Ive got a turbosmart boost tee on the rex. Does the job, 16.5psi all day every day. Its what the actuator is set to.

hehe yeah it makes sense. I had my performance mechanic give me a 15-20 min lesson on how a turbo engine works and he explained that the longer the piping, the bigger the gap between 'tsch tsch tsch'! My subie just has a bigger turbo (avo400s) and bigger tmic (Process West). The stuff all pipe from the cooler to the turbo. So when running no bov, the flutter sounds like a pur from a pussy cat  haha! Id hate to feel my car with a fmic. Apart from looking pretty tough! I just couldn't put up with the lag! I think the rolla needs a little more boost. Maybe around the 10psi mark. Really don't want to bugger any internals or the manifold though. Here's a couple of pics of my subie setup and the 'WRX' logo I sprayed on the cooler this weekend.
-
Yeah that would be good. It actually sounds like that whilst driving as well. Mate said that it needs more boost and a bigger cooler to actually sound like its dosing. I have no idea. I just know that in my subie i get nothin coz its a top mount configuration..... Jealous  Apart from the wank factor, i don't mind the sound, coz its unusual to see/hear on these cars.
-
Hey i was just comparing sounds from your to mine. Any reason whys yours sounds like it does's and mine just flutters?
-
CAI sounds!
-
last time i checked was gunna be 120 or 150 all up. How many litres do you need...?
-
good as! you can come do mine when it needs one done :D. Should get that gearbox oil for the subie! How much you pay for it?
-
yeah i think ill look into that ;)
-
the stuff is expensive though.... but well worth it so I'm told!

With one of these clamps on the turbo, it wont slip off! piping clears everything and is not in contact at all. I will sort out a bracket of some sort thought. Whats the escution plate?? My pod just sits in that little area under the water bottle, behind the fog light. What did you do with the little vacuum line that runs into the standard intake?
-
Hey mate! fitted up cai last friday night. Used the standard piping thats comes off the turbo, cut the straighter part off (still kept), attached a reducing 90 degree silicone elbow to the end. Fitted an 80mm pressure socket (thanks to Reece plumbing, my work) into the elbow and attached the pod filter to that. From pipe to turbo mouth i used the smallest silicone joiner i could find...turbosmart blue joiner. think its around 50mm. Used a normal hose clamp for the pipe and a GBS heavy duty hose clamp (also from reece) for the turbo. I'll post some pics up tomorrow. I'll also try and figure out a video so you can hear what it sounds like. Oh and the price all up for making this was $65 Good discount from autobarn on the silcone bits. Stuff from reece... FREE :jamie: Beats $330 that i had been quoted!
-
did you get redline gearbox oil? my subie needs it.
-
I'm guessing you have done it before? i wouldnt have a clue how to do it. probably stuff something up. in other news.... the cai is now done and works quite well. trying to find a silcone joiner for the ihi turbo is hard. Stupid turbo is so damn small!! ended up using the smallest i could find..which is still to big, and clamped the s**t outta it.......i think it maybe leaking :)

x2 to that. I have never known a car to remove the whole engine just to replace a clutch. Are you going to replace it your self? What clutchdi you decide on? James
