Hello boys and girls. As most of you have seen this section is getting very untidy, I for one am getting a little tired of going through page after page of unrelated topic crap. :( I know we all like a chat, but as it has been said before maybe MSN could be used for the chats, If you want we could make a thread with MSN addresses for those of you that want to chat. MSN can also have groups, maybe put all you rolla club friends in there and then you can have a group chat. Example of this is the Launie toyota meeting thread, This thread would be used for meeting times, Dates and pictures of the meetings and related topic information. But if we read the last page, it has nothing to do with it :jamie: This also goes for members rides section also. Maybe just keep 1 thread for your off topic that the rest of use don't need to dig through to find information we need. KEEP THIS ON TOPIC AND ONLY POST IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING RELEVANT TO SAY.

One other suggestion is stop the off topic crap in threads. All the extra crap makes it harder for ANYBODY to find information, takes so much longer to find the answers, Ive noticed it alot in my region. can we just have one thread in the region for total offtopic crap be made and people stick to that thead for your chats. I know the moderators etc have alot to do, but someone needs to be deleting the crap and giving the offenders a smack.:(

I hope to have the engine in the rolla's engine bay at the weekend
-
I don't like where this thread is going, Please try to keep it clean. For the wannabee drifters, i guess ill be seeing you heros on the track this weekend showing haskel how well you do drift as you have stated you are better. (Insert lame excuse here : Example "oh my cars not ready" or "I'm going to my nannas for lunch that day") :y: :D :y: :P :P :P :P :P :P

nice car, you did well. But can you please use spell check and type full words. Us old foke can't understand what you are saying :y:

from your question before i was thinking you wanted a all round car. ill make everything myself and have everything i need for doing these jobs, so there is no real extra costs i can see for me, but if you have to start paying people for work to be done $1500 will go quick. so far your cost for the cars is good, as long as the vn donor cars engine and box are good. I was going to have the engine in tommorow, but it has to wait till next weekend now:(

Brake Upgrade Question - Struts And Strut Tops
NickZ replied to Raven's topic in Automotive Discussion
ra40 struts will not bolt to ke30-55 steering arms, you have to change to ra40 lower control arms and the ra40 steering arms, the ball joint is also diffrent so you can't just put the ra40 steerig arm on the ke30-55 lower control arm. the ra40 and ke 30-55 lower control arms are the same length. Thats my experience as i have done this conversion on my ke30 -
Id still go for the 4AGE Z or 20V over the v6 for a all round car, I'm doing the V6 thing as i already have my 4age20v rolla and want to use that for curcuit racing and not total thrashing. The v6 rolla I'm building is for the thrashing as its costing me under $1000 to do it as i can do all the work myself, Its being built just for drags and burnout comps and when its not doing that it will have standard wheels, whitewalls and look stock just so people can go "WOW a V6 in that would be cool" :laff: But i don't think it would be a good everyday or curcuit car as the bloody engine is heavy and the rolla would fall apart after awhile. And i think the V6 would be harder to fit than the 4AGE, youll find all the parts easy for the 4AGE conversion.

i don't think there is going to be any updates this weekend, I may get some pics of the ke35. I'm broke, on money, can't spend $1 on it his week :) and theres not alot i can do untill i get the bellhousing anyway. this bellhousing is costing me what the commodore and the ke35 cost me in total, was hoping i could this cheap $400
-
the commodore box is a T5, they are not T50's the engine has the flywheel etc, only bits ill need to use the w58 is pressure plate and a clutch plate.
-
too quick: Didnt you mean "IF it gets you there its good"?:P it is a EA after all ;)

todays lesson for any one wanting to do this. buy complete engine and box, but I'm glad i got the manual even though the gearboxes are expensive, every one have been quoting $1200+ dollars for the gearboxes, I am not paying that. i found one for $550, but i also have found a vn v6 to w58 bellhousings for $400 ( I have a W58). being a light car i would think the w58 should be strong enough. What does everyone think would be the better way to go? The v6 to w58 is cable clutch on the driverside too and maybe the w58 may be lighter and smaller than the t5 commodore box.

ok well how about this, I bought the vn for $300, may not have bought something later model at that price. But i also think that this engine will produce enough power for me to play with. Later i was thinking of putting one of the microtech ECU i have kicking around, but ill have to piggy back it of the standard ecu so it can still run the coil packs, ill just have fuel control.

nah i lost it test driving my mate skyline i had just got going that was unreg. i went around a corner gunned it in first and second then slowed down, I was thinking "this car makes alot of noise, but doesnt seem to be very quick" looking at the speedo i was only doing about 65km, Then slowed down to the 50km. Well it seems the speedo is way out, i was clocked at 89km in a 50km, or is it really out. I don't know and can't prove otherwise and the fact it wasnt regoed i just have to do the time. it 3 months and $250 fine. But I'm not too worried as i only drive a car on saturdays and sundays, put it this way i use $20 petrol every 2 months.

Whats the diffrence between the engines? I wouldnt know one commo motor to the next :P I picked this one as it was a manual car
-
Just for those that don't know what a commodore v6 looks like out of a car. Seperated the engine ecu wiring from the car electrical system before removing the engine and made the nessasary connections to run the engine, only needed 3 external wires from the ecu loom to make it run. Was very easy to do.

Maybe we could swap some info on this conversion. I don't know when your starting, but ive now got the engine and the KE35 car, I'm just looking for a 5 speed, as mine is a manual engine and all that was missing from the VN was the gearbox. I hope to be fitting the engine within 2 weeks and ill be posting pics soon. I think the engine mounts will be the hardest part and ive done plenty of them.
-
forgot to add, it will be supercharged too :P I'm going to use an SC14 just to give it 4-5 psi of extra tire smoking torque.
-
pic should work now

I don't have a licence :P

Yes another thread by me. But as the topic says I'm building a V6 commodore powered rolla that seems to be popular on these forums lately. This is my old rolla i sold to another member so I'm going to recycle the photos as the new one i bought is the same. Yes thats right it red and has the same white stripe down the side.It is a twin, just doesnt have the hub caps. But i will take some of my own soon. Now i bought this today its a manual car, but no gearbox :P but has all the other mechanical parts. So ill be pulling out the motor, wiring, ECU and everything else that can come off this thing.
