Was travelling behind a Great Wall poo box the other morning and it was brand spanking new....all shiny underneath and I swear that the rear tray was twisted, about 40mm lower on the rear right hand side and 60mm higher on the front left....niiiiice! I am also wondering when Holden is going to change it's name to Daewoo? Everything that is not a Commo is straight out of Korea, once again....niiiice.

Superb car! Congratulations on the purchase. 12" Flappers are no probs..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Microcar-Is...sQ5fAccessories Postage is expensive, but fast and they are top notch quality. Still work out cheaper than John. Have some on our Bimmer and have had 3 other sets on various things.

Early Rolla Cruise January 31st 2010 - Adelaide
ratiara replied to ratiara's topic in Automotive Discussion
Sorry, forgot that we were on a Corolla forum, I'm on a few....most of my stuff I've played with has had a ladder frame and my barnfind DeSoto was frequently looked over by police and even though one side sill panel was disappearing below the rear door, I got thumbs up from the folk in blue. Back on topic....there was a great group of cars on this cruise, some less perfect than others, but great to see enthusiasts proud of their cars out and about. -

Point taken, good stuff. Us car enthusiasts just need to stick together because, hell, there are plenty of people that want to take this stuff away from us and if a young fella has a bit of pride in his ride (regardless of condition etc.)we should show some encouragement thats all. By the way rolla68, your car is sweet as a nut!!!! -

Rust is not a crime, and yes, the Ford thing is common knowledge. -

Strewth! Orange or 'mustard' does stand out in the pics and was a great colour for Toyota to roll out. Good to see one not resprayed in the obligatory Japanese racing white. Unlike Henry Ford with only releasing the Model T Ford only in black......Toyota never stood back and said 'You can have any colour as long as it's white'. Nickyboys car is sweet as pie with lots of character and gets the big thumbs up from this car enthusiast! -
New Ride - 1964 Toyota Tiara - Painted Roof, He He
ratiara replied to ratiara's topic in Rollaclub Rides
What do you do when you are a little bored and think your Tiara needs a contrasting roof? Go to Bunnings and get some rattle cans, that's what! Needs to be wet and dried and tidied a bit, but reckon the colour is spot on. -
Whats goin' on?! I don't understand. Just asking........what do you guys say to the cops when you get pulled?

Other Rides - 1963 Chevrolet Corvair And 1969 Bmw 2002
ratiara replied to ratiara's topic in Rides - non-Toyota
Yep, she sure is different and will be on the road by the end of Feb. The yanks did a few things differently alright....the fan belt is just bizarre! Will get some shots of the engine bay. It is a swell machine and not as unsafe as Ralph Nader would have us believe. In independent testing in the late 60's it proved that the Corvair was in the top two safest cars built in the US in the 60's. So when I get LHD rego, I will be driving it non stop....may even sleep in it. -

Early Rolla Cruise January 31st 2010 - Adelaide

Yes, as I said, there were a few non rollas at the start but they didn't cruise....they were still rad as hell though. -
So I tagged along with my mate (Chobis on here) in his KE11 to a little gathering of early rollas. Great little turnout, and even a non Corolla owning person like me couldn't help but be dazzled by the array of sweet rides there. There were also a couple of non-rollas there which looked cool too, a duo of Maz 1300s and a Datto 1000 didn't look too out of place in the lineup. Cheers, Darren - Hubcaps Photography My pics........

That's very tidy there sir! Congratulations on a great buy. Rims look great and finish looks cherry pie......sweet.

I don't understand....you do a crappy Cortina up copying everything the VW scene does and people love it. I am not jealous of your car, but I am jealous that people love it better than my sick as hell Corvair. :) Ha ha....just kidding, you know I love you and that green thing that you don't drive much.
-
Your Cortina is not very nice. Just kidding, gee wizz brother we had some fun with the rat look....scouring swap meets, comparing ebay purchases of completely useless scooters, suitcases and eskies. And yes, the Hoodride or Rat Look scene was fun while it lasted. Attention to detail is the key......a ratter needs period accessories and innovation, it is more than an unsafe poo box with chopped springs and the folk at shows generally appreciated it. Your Corty really broke the mould and showed that a little original thought, some help from your mates and stuff pulled from alternate 'scenes' could really result in something special.
