I hope that size turbo works out for you, because you would hate it if it turns out to be a cranky unfriendly street driven vehicle. I’ve driven some cars with a huge turbo on the street and some come off boost (revs drop too low) while changing gears and lag before they come on boost again. As you would know a turbo being too large for an engine will have a very narrow power band in the top end of the rev range (it would be a real lag monster). Not being a hater as I can and do appreciate any build of this quality, which yours is and I hope the engine/turbo combo works out. All the best

Hey i should have said that a "HJ75" is a Landcruiser (model).

What RPM do you think you will have full spool by? What are you setting this car up for; ¼ mile strip car Dyno Queen Or an all rounder All the best

I'll get back to you tonight with part numbers.

The early ones run AFM and the later ones ran the MAP sensors. And as above it would not work too well with what you are planning to do. Just spend the money on an aftermarket ECU, because the factory ecu would be around 20 years old and it could be on the way out with a leaky capacitor and corrode the ecu board. Good luck

Hey there, I sure I have read somewhere that the 4G63T at some stage changed there head ports from one side to the other. ie if the exhaust ports like you motor are on the driver’s side now (whatever year/model) either earlier or later models have them on the passenger side. I think that is what I have read somewhere so by swapping the head over may help. All the best on your engine conversion.

 That Bellhousing has no webbing for extra strength What type of bell housing is that, who makes them? (I know that it’s a 4AGE to W5*) Does that bellhousing slightly tilt the box over to one side? (I have read some of the 4AGE to W5* do) All the best

Ha…. That plenum….. um well, (it's for an SR20), Shhhh do not tell the SR20 powered Toyota drivers on here. The Nissan plate that bolts against the head as be removed and then a plate welded on that fits the Toyota 20V Black Top head. Yeah the back of the head sits about 110mm from the firewall because of the TechnoToyTuning Water kit. The dizzy has a been caped off and I am using Coil Over Plug setup. Yeah its coming along slowly, I get more enjoyment out of working/Fabricating bits and pieces. More parts arrive from the USA soon.

No, I think the shifter will be fine in this position (as I do not have to cut/extend holes in the transmission tunnel) and I can always bend the gearstick to suit if I feel the need to adjust it. Well that is what I am thinking now, because I ordered the gearbox to suit the hole in the transmission tunnel. Do you have the shifter position closer to the firewall in yours?

The last two weekends my little bomb has undergone a heart transplant. Well I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking. First of all I premade the engine mounts. Removal of the engine Fitment of a test block, making sure it was sitting in alignment before welding any of the engine mounts. To help the test block sit in alignment (level and in the centre) I used rope to hold it in place before tack welding the mounts to the engine. Engine mounts all welded up W58 on standard KE35 gearbox mount How the engine sits in the engine bay W58 Gearbox and Nites Bellhousing How the gear shifter comes through into the car. Engine sitting in place

Not too sure what you are trying to say with the above?

Ok, some more pics for you all. Dash is nearly all stripped out (going to total rewire everything as I am fussy at what I do) Filling in the cracks in the dash pad I used a 2 pack Polyurethane Foam I bought these Autopro gauges Standard dash panel removed Got out the angle grinder and removed all of the raised webbing front and rear Holes in the dash panel filled and then glassed overed Dash all glassed up and ready for the stainless sheet face New dash panel New to the old (with allowance for 2 more gauges if I need in the future)

I had no idea what the 2 litre (SR20) Nissan head could flow. My little 1.6 litre 20V Black Top head flows 253cfm at 4.5 lift so its bugger all difference. Sounds like you stuffed your head full of goodness like I have, and it empty’s the bank account pretty fast. Thanks for sharing the figure

The head looks good (even though it is a Nissan… just teasing), apart from the CNC port job did you get bigger valves and valve springs any work to the seats, and most important where is the flow chart. I wish you all the best, (I know how much work and $$$$ is involved. I would like to get my little bomb into the 10’s, one day.

So true is that above statement

Still no clue for us regarding the colour …. Looks like we will just have to wait this one out.
-
Have you posted up the times and I have not seen them? Wish we had a drag strip in Cairns as the closest one is 4hrs away, so get you A$$ to the track and lets see what this Nissan motor can do!

I hope to have this on the road by Xmas…. and cage next year

My W58 gearbox turned up last week. Now I know that the W55, W57 and the W58 all look the same from the outside but below is a simple little trick to find out what W5* box you have with out pulling it apart. If you turn input shaft 25 full turns in first gear the output shaft will turn; W55 1st gear = 7.01 on output shaft W57 1st gear = 7.61 on output shaft W58 1st gear = 7.61 on output shaft If you turn input shaft 25 full turns in fifth gear the output shaft will turn; W55 5th gear = 29.4 on output shaft W57 5th gear = 29.03 on output shaft W58 5th gear = 31.93on output shaft Its best to use an old clutch plate on the input and an old yoke on the output shaft, place a white dot on them, now all you have to do is turn input 25 times & count the output.

Thank you for the encouragement.

Looking good

Apart from the mug shots, where are the pictures of the cars that went on the cruise?

I received an email today from a mate with a link to click on, I know this is SO WRONG, but I had to share it with you all.
