  1. As far as I know of, it is the factory steering wheel and yes it is brown.
  2. Hey it’s been a while between updates (with some work) but I have been a little busy with moving house and it has been far too bloody hot to do any work. Now that I have settled into my new place and the heart and humidity is not too fierce I have done some more work on the little old bomb. I’ll let the pictures do the talking. I have just about all of the electronics sorted Sorting out the new wiring Taping up a new wiring harness to make it a little bit tidier Harness all in place, I have tried to hide most of the wiring Wires behind the dash for all of the lights and gauges Dash all connected and in place
  3. Seems like you have a busy weekend in front of you. I still do not have your new number.
  4. Those new mounts look the go ! With the new engine mounts are you able to reuse the KE brake reservoir?
  5. You are correct in saying its has came from a "late AE92 GT-Z levin" they do not have a T-VIS plate.
  6. It’s nice to see some progress. I bet you’re disappointed about the brake reservoir. Looking good, I need to get stuck into mine soon.
  7. I have a lot of parts on order that should be here in April so there will be some more progress from then.
  8. To be honest I did not even consider anyone local. I have always had Kyle from 6Boost build all of my turbo manifolds, because of the high standards and “they work”. I have seen some manifolds that have been build locally and to be honest I do not know how they would make anything spool. Thanks for letting me know about Warrick, but I will be using Kyle again.
  9. Hey your PM did not work, just text it through because I have not been on here alot latley because I am in between house's
  10. I do believe ur correct in that power figure :y: as i have heard some good things about it (even all the way up here in Cairns)
  11. A bit of an update; Looking back through my thread, I took out the dash in August and I was going to have the dash restored, but after a few phone calls this was going to cost over $500 to send the dash south and have it sent back (I could not see the value in this so that idea was scrapped). Looking through the for sale section I came across a late model KE30 dash that “Mr EvanG” was selling, so I gave Evan a call and about 3 days later all the way from Melbourne came a perfect brand new/second hand dash. I would like to say a big thank you for the extra effort Evan did with the extra padding around of the dash when it was sent up to Cairns. I cancelled the order of the Borgwarner Turbo (its been over 6 months and no one could tell me how much longer I would have to wait). I have ordered a T28 turbo but it is a mixed and match affair, so I am hoping to have it with in the next 2 weeks. I will have to position the turbo in the engine bay and make up a jig to position it and send the jig down to Kyle at 6Boost to make a turbo manifold. Kyle said it could take up to 4 – 8 weeks wait for one of his custom manifolds depending on how much work he has on at the time. In the mean time (last week) I have bought an ECU for the little old bomb, the brand is a ViPEC which is the same as what my engine tuner uses and sells. (My engine tuner has just put together for himself a 7AGE). Its been so bloody hot up here (in Cairns) and the humidity is just stupid this time of the year, so I can not be bothered to even start on the wiring and I have to move house in about a months time so I will wait until I’m at the new place to make a start. So the plan over the next few months are (but not necessary in the following order; 1. Wire up the car for the ViPEC ecu and finish off the dash, and to hide as much as possible wiring under the bonnet. 2. Make up some new hard lines for the fuel system 3. Make up a new radiator and an intercooler to keep things cool 4. Mount the turbo and make up an exhaust (3 ½ inch dump and a 3inch system with 2 x 2inch pipes up and over the diff to exit out the back) Then the car should be ready to go back on the road. Sorry for all of the words and no photo’s coz everyone wants photo’s.
  12. I have just updated my thread for you :P
  13. May I ask why do you need a bigger diff? Have you broken a standard diff yet? Why spend money on a diff if you could be spending it on other parts that may improve the handling or the power. (just asking ~ its your money)
  14. Yeah that is what my tuner uses and another plus he has just completed his 7AGTE so looks like I will be starting with a very good base map and will be fine tuned from there to suit my motor/turbo.
  15. Thanks for the feed back on the different ECU’s, with some having features and some that do not have too many. I have based my decision on an ECU that will allow me to expand by having extra inputs and outputs (having extra features that I may need down the track). I went for a ViPEC engine management system.
  16. Its been a busy last week and I never got the chance to make a phone call, I plan to chase it up tomorrow.
  17. I want one of them stickers “I LOVE Lawn Bowls”
  18. Have a look at page 8, 9 and 12 of my thread to see how I made my engine mounts My link It might help you All the best
  19. There’s more to it; Oil squirters do not lubricate the bearings, their main purpose is to help cool the underside of the pistons. As for low oil, if there is no oil to be pumped up to the oil squirters, then the crank/cam bearings are not getting oil pumped to them either. Its more then just drilling a hole into the oil gallery, you need to machine the surface flat like I have done to my block otherwise the oil squirters will not seal against the block. The squirters are like a banjo setup one side seals against the underside of the bolt head and the other against the block. Another thing you will have to do is position them in the correct location so the relief cut in your pistons will clear the oil squirter (protruding straw/squirter thing). There is also a location pin on the underside of the oil squirter that locates the oil squirter into the correct position that locks it in place against the block so it will not move. and even if your builder you will not be able to with regards to the oil squirters it’s a little bit more involved then what you are thinking. All the Best
  20. The first thing was the stainless steel housings on the BW (smooth compared to the Garrett). The compressor wheel was made from some fancy material (I can not remember what now). When comparing the compressor graphs the BW would have produced boost earlier and kept on making if after the Garrett ran out. (But this is all on paper and no one has played with the EFR BorgWarner on a 7A or a 4A as far as I know of) As for being bored out, I'm running oversized pistons (bigish turbo cams) and a decent compression ratio, and at this stage for the ¼ strip I will have the boost around 25psi. So it should sound ok.
  21. Lol at the rough size…… I know this is a little motor in CC and I do not want a Dyno Queen or a lag monster. I want a quick car I want to enjoy driving it on the road, either going on a cruise or to drive it to work but then I want to run some impressive times down the ¼ strip. So for now I am going for a mix of T28 bits, as I do believe this should be a good match for the motor and the weight of the vehicle. If this becomes a little dull after a while, I will know the characterises of the car and motor and I should be able to make a good call on a larger turbo for a Dyno Queen (please shoot me if I ever do that) or for a faster time on the ¼ strip. (I have built this motor to handle nos if I decide to use that).
  22. My exact thoughts …….. Maybe I'm just showing my age.
  23. Hey you do not really need oil squirters, but for what I want to achieve and with the skills and machinery I have and can use I thought why not do it. I would firstly ask your machinist for a quote (you do not want to find out that this part of the job is going to be more then everything that they have already done. As for the pictures, you can use what ever you want (because once you post anything on the internet you no longer own it) I’m happy to share information to help with a build, because after all that’s what we do on “Rollaclub”
  24. 6 Months now! Yeah it has been a bloody long time and the more I’ve been thinking about it over the weekend I think I will be asking for a Garrett turbo. Why an EFR BorgWarner in the first place, well I walked into the turbo shop all ready to buy a Garrett turbo and they told me about this new fantastic turbo and all of its features and functions and I was now more confused then ever. So I left with a handful of stats and figures relating to the Garrett and the EFR BorgWarner turbo’s so I could compare the two. On paper the BorgWarner read to be the better turbo, so a week later after having a good research around the internet (found some forum sites on the BorgWarner EFR turbo’s) I put down a deposit. I was told delivery would be between 6 to 9 weeks as they were new still on the production line, I was in no hurry so I could wait. But the more I think of it I thing that the BorgWarner could be in trouble with the GFC and if I did get one of these turbos and they stopped making them or parts I would be left with a lemon (these are my thoughts atm). I still have all of the Garrett part numbers that I need to put together the turbo combo I want, so I'm thinking I might use the BW deposit for the Garrett parts. Another plus with a Garrett is there are heaps of parts out there and a popular brand of turbo.
  25. Good questions; I took of the minimum amount as possible to have a flat surface to be able to put the oil squirter's on. (about 0.5mm) Because at the time it was the only mill cutter I could find and it was small enough to do the job (you only need to make a flat surface big enough for the oil squirter). By looking and measuring up a 4AGE block and having a look at where the oil gallery was running in the 7A block. All the best
