Trev Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) ***Change Of Vehicle*** I have decided to put together an AE71 Panelvan as i had a spare bigport GE in the shed, I am hoping to have this one running as soon as i get the box and carbies for it, It will be running twin 45mm DCOE webers on a bigport adaptor (on the way from the US), Also need to get extractors and it should be done, I'm going to see how it goes with the stock 4age distributor with an ignition module, There will be no advance but i will just have it setup to run good at high rpm. Trev Posted August 26, 2007 Author Report Posted August 26, 2007 Why are carbies so expensive, They are just carbs, It's going to be cheaper to just throw the EFI gear on it so if i don't get some carbs and an adaptor for 600 bucks (good luck ey) i will throw the injection gear back on it.
Medicine_Man Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Yeah, you can pay close to $1000 by the time you get the manifold/carbs/linkages/filters etc.. But its sooooo worth it for the sound..

Yes indeed, Thats why i just hit the 'Buy it Now' on these puppies and many thanks to Brad (beerhead) for the link :P 40mm:
beerhead Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Yeah, nice score, gonna be awesome. Anyone who's got a FWD bigport who wants twin carbs should think about getting a RWD redline manifold and swapping it with trev, this one is tilted to stop FWD's fowling on the firewall
