Taz_Rx Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Yeah take the temp sender out of the exiled 4k and put that in the 5k John. I haven't got around to doing it in my old shit box yet with a 3k sender so at operating temp its 3-4mm off the red section of the temp guage!! :P Quote
JiP Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 Sounds like a plan. I'll have make a trip to Trev's as thats where the engine is at the mo. She's also leaking oil from what I could see from under the fuel pump. It might just need a new gasket. I'll be looking into that tomorrow. Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Hi, The extractors could be fine John. As a 5K has a higher block height most extractors will be pulled up a bit to reach the head and then it throws them out so the extractor issues is probably normal. Also what gasket did you end up getting a stock 2 piece for the intake or a one piece extractor gasket? Cheers Cameron Quote
JiP Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) All we could find was the two piece. Edited September 24, 2007 by JiP_01 Quote
JiP Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 Okay, Temp sender out and replaced. I had to get it from SL2's 4K as SL1's was stuck on and Lolla's 4K is at Trev's. Sadly, I can't test it as the oil leak from behind my fuel pump is worse than I thought. One of the nuts were loose and when I originally tried to tighten it, it kept slipping. I grabbed a nut from my spare 4K hoping that it wasn't worse than that and found that the thread on that bolt was like a spring and easily came off. I've stuck it back one but with one nut. I'm hoping it'll hold while I drive it tomorrow down to my mechanic. Quote
beerhead Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 I'm fairly certain 5K and 4K blocks are identical in height. I ran into no problems when replacing a 4K. They both have the same rods and crank, but run a bigger bore to take the motor to 1.5L. Hi, The extractors could be fine John. JiP Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 Its all fine at the mo, the cars at the mechanic getting fixed. Tho she doesn't kick over first go, i'll see when it comes back if it continues and maybe have it looked into. Quote
JiP Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Posted October 4, 2007 Okay, today My new angle eyes came in the mail. So I just spent some time putting them in. What do you think?? ... Also in the same package came the rest of my LED bulbs and LED flasher thingo. Now with all the bulbs in the indercators don't flash. So tomorrow I'll be replacing the standard flasher unit with the LED one after do abit of wiring to make it fit. After that I will hopefully be doing a brake upgrade by removing the standard KE30 brakes and replacing them with the brakes I got from SL1. Quote
JiP Posted October 6, 2007 Author Report Posted October 6, 2007 (edited) Okay, brake upgrade didn't happen. I'm new to the technical side of things and my manual confused the crap out of me. Then I realised that my rubber brake lines were crumbling. So I'll definitely be having that done on my next pay. So I wired in my flasher unit. Another shot of my Angle Eyes. The GREEN light that shines above my stock AM radio was replaced with a super white light. My new headlights. (Angle Eyes not wired in) And my tail lights. All Super White LED's. I have noticed something tonight tho. When I brake (When the headlights are off) the dash lights turn on very dimly. Edited October 6, 2007 by JiP_01 Quote
7shades Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 ANGEL eyes Not angle... sorry... spelling nazi makes cameo appearances every now and then Quote

Check the earth in the boot from the tail lights. I had a similar problem, when it doesn't earth properly, i had tail, and indicators glow when i put my foot on the brake! Quote
ToyoKE30Coupe Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 i love the lighting you have done through the car, looks awesome. i am interested in the angel eyes aswell but have no idea where to purchase a set. any help for those wanting a set. are they for a ke30 or are they for a completely different car and have been modded Quote
JiP Posted October 17, 2007 Author Report Posted October 17, 2007 Hey, thanks. The old girls almost complete. Just gotta get the paintwork done now. The website that I got all the Bulbs and Headlights from is Bright Light Auto Parts. They are based in Melbourne I think. They also have TRD stickers if that's your thing. The Headlights are a standard 7" headlight that will fit in your KE30/55's mounting bracket. I'll hopefully have the parker wired in soon. Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 If your keen ToyoKE30Coupe use the search function I wrote a How to DIIY angle eyes on here have them on my KE30 cost like $40 all up for me to do it but worth it. Cheers Cameron Quote
JiP Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 Well, thought its time for an update. So I'm almost ready to install the Xenon headlight kits into my cars. Lolla will be first. Firstly I needed the brackets to fit the bulbs. So to got them free I smashed one in a car door to prove that I only want the brackets. That's one way to get a free set of bubs. So that's three bulbs for free. Now to dismount the brackets. Now here's them dismounted. And here's how they'd look mounted... Sort of. Next step... Having them installed and the Angel Eyes installed. Also today I figured out that my passenger seat is torn so since its next door I'll have that done at the same time!! So gibe it a couple weeks and it'll be done!! Quote
